YMMV / A Fox in Space

• Big-Lipped Alligator Moment: The "Nova Bomb" commercial in Episode 2 is rather strange and serves no purpose besides being a Mythology Gag.
• Crosses the Line Twice: Pretty much the entirety of the "Are You Guys Going Trick or Treating?" short, which pushes Fox to over the top unbridled vulgar fury and Wolf to absolute petty laughter over something as simple as Star Fox going trick-or-treating.
• Evil Is Cool: Andross, the premier of Venom, is an Affably Evil Villain with Good Publicity Emperor Scientist (and, if you take him at his word, a Well-Intentioned Extremist). Thanks to his awesome voice, cool design, and the shrewd way he manipulates both his planet and enemies while supposedly preparing for an even greater threat, he comes off as a competent and interesting villain.
• One-Scene Wonder: Desslar "Dess" Coba only gets roughly two minutes of screentime, but his emotional scene with James, the mystery surrounding his mission, and his surprising and sad death make him a memorable character.
• Rescued from the Scrappy Heap: Andrew Oikonny is best remembered as being an annoying fanboy of his uncle. Here, he’s much more likeable and laid-back former friend of Fox who used to be roommates with him on the royal academie. His backstory as a former acquaintance makes him much more interesting and combined with his affable personality has actually made him a fan favourite despite getting only two scenes and three lines of dialogue.
• Tear Jerker: Dess's death. He sounds exhausted through the whole scene, and plays it off as just having gone a few days without sleep. Turns out he was just staving off death until he could complete his mission. What really makes it sad are his last words: “This is… such an ugly planet…” It’s clear he didn’t want to die on Venom.
