What Could Have Been / Super RWBY Sisters

Go To

Throughout the series, the author has revealed particular scenes were either changed, moved into the next chapter, or never happened. Here is a list of the many confirmed official changes.

Super RWBY Sisters

  • Super RWBY Sisters was originally going to be a one time thing, but then the author had the idea to make it into a series.
    • Adding on to this, it was originally going to be just RWBY and Mario, but when K. Rool mentioned the Smash Mansion, it opened the floodgates.
    • RWBY: Legend of the Seven Stars was going to be after Super RWBY World, but since the author hadn't checked the game out at the time, he had cold feet and removed it. Now that he had, he wishes he could go back and do it.
      • Because of the original plans, RWBY Uprising was going to be its own thing as well.

RWBY Uprising

  • As the author is a massive Pit x Viridi fan, he thought for sure he'd have Pit and Viridi be a couple like in the other two story universes he had written. And then he started thinking of Ruby and Pit... The rest is history.
    • Because of this, he thought of having Dark Pit and Dark Ruby be a couple as well, but when he found out that it'd be cliche if Dark Pit dates an evil clone of another character, it was scrapped as a result.

RWBY DK 64

  • While writing RWBY: DK 64, the author originally had the idea to make it like it was in the game, a collectathon and had a few ideas on which character collects the Golden Bananas. However, he soon realized that writing a collectahon in story form wouldn't have been the best idea and thought the readers would grow bored. His friends came to the rescue and suggested that he have the Golden Bananas be guarded by the bosses.

RWBY: Superstar Saga plus Bowser's Minions

  • The Phantom Thieves were originally going to be part of the main cast in Superstar Saga. However, the author's friends realized there were too many characters in the group so they were cut out in favor for the Three Houses gang.
  • Pyrrha was originally going to take the full brunt of the Kathwack spell while fighting Cackletta's Soul. The author had it written up until he thought it would trigger some PTSD from fans who had cried from Pyrrha's death in the canon, even though he would have had Serena revive her. It was switched to Yang as a result.

Operation: Winter Moonlight

  • There was originally going to be more characters in the Schnee Mansion Heist like the Phantom Thieves, Greninja and Snake. The author's friend who he collabbed with thought it was a bit overkill. Only Futaba stuck around as Mission Control.

RWBY: Partners in Time

  • Partners in Time was originally going to start off with Ganondorf and Sonic fighting, with Ganondorf boasting that those who don't have swords are weak. Sonic grabs a Beam Sword and pulls off some sweet moves that would knock Ganondorf off his feet. However, plans changed when Min Min was confirmed and the author wanted to show her off right away.
    • This is revisited during the 16th chapter of Super RWBY Galaxy where Weiss and Tucker witness sheer awesomeness from Sonic's impressive swordsplay.
  • The last chapter in JINX Star Allies was just going to feature a fight with General Shroob, and then head over to Dreamland. However, a review pointed out that Void Termina exploded, which would result in Dark Xena coming out to play, something that the author didn't realize until after the chapter was posted.
  • In Chapter 14 of Partners in Time, Cresselia was going to save Ozpin from a Shroob attack in his own office. It was cut when the author wanted to show Ozpin's battle skills instead.
  • Deoxys was going to join Diggernaut at Thwomp Volcano, but the author's friends thought it would have been a bit much.
  • As revealed during Chapter 14 of Partners in Time, the Danganronpa characters were going to be introduced in Super RWBY Sunshine, but at the time, the author said no before later changing their mind.
  • In Chapter 17 of Partners in Time, there was going to be a long battle with the mutated Behemoth, but was cut short when the author realized that Esdeath can quickly take care of it.
    • Adding on to Chapter 17, the author was gonna have a scene where Sonic goes to Mobius and gets the Chaos Emeralds, but thought it would ruin the surprise.

JINX Star Allies

  • The author mentioned that Gooey wasn't originally going to be in JINX Star Allies because he didn't like Gooey's play style in Guest Star Allies. He had a change of heart when he realized the Star Allies crew wouldn't have been complete without him. Not to mention he softened up on him when he played the game on the Switch.

RWBY Isle of Armor

  • In the first chapter of Isle of Armor, an Elecktrike was going to hit everyone with a Discharge attack, but it was soon changed to its evolved form, Manectric as the author felt it made a bit more sense.

Super RWBY Galaxy

  • Steve was originally going to be part of the cast for Super RWBY Galaxy. However, one of the author's friends pointed out that Steve's abilities would be completely broken in zero gravity and would easily obtain harder stars in a blink of an eye. As a result, he has a simple cameo.
  • Originally, Egg Viper DX was going to be called Egg Viper 2.0. The author changed it to reference Sonic Adventure DX for the Gamecube.
  • Gensokyo was originally going to be one chapter, however the author underestimated how big Gensokyo was going to be, so he had to split it up in three chapters.
  • At Melty Molten Galaxy, there was going to be a moment when Viridi would come in and help take down Fiery Dino Piranha, and she would have Dino Piranha with her to subdue the beast. Before the scene was implemented, a friend came up with the idea for someone to punch Fiery Dino Piranha in the gut to make him cough out the Power Star. The author decided to go with his friend's idea instead.

RWBY: The Crown Tundra

  • Originally, Calyrex was going to possess Peony to communicate with the heroes like he does in Pokémon Sword and Shield. However, the author thought it'd be funnier if Calyrex possessed Mona instead.
  • SAPR was going to spell her name out with electricity, but the author thought it'd be hard to see with electricity, so he went with fire instead.
  • Originally the Galarian Star Tournament was to happen next after the chapter on the Galarian Legendary Birds. However, the author decided to add a chapter on the Ultra Beasts and explaining why the Swords of Justice were in the Crown Tundra.

Super Paper RWBY

  • The Underwhere arc was originally going to be split into two chapter but the author decided to split into three chapters after deciding to have 7-2 be dedicated to Hades and previous villains messing with the heroes.

RWBY: Bowser's Inside Story

  • The scene with Summer, Raven, and Qrow was originally going to be a Gaiden Chapter, however the author changed his mind to having it be in a chapter of Inside Story. Said scene was then planned for chapter 11 but instead added to chapter 12 as not to ruin the emotional reunion with Marnie, Roman, and Neo.

Wario Land: JINX It!

  • Syrup was originally planned to been the one to send the mission request for the Wario Bros but it was instead changed to have Bowser instead be the one.

SPBRR: Fusion

  • SPBRR: Fusion was originally called RWBY: Fusion, however several guest reviews pointed out the rest of Team RWBY were not in the story and the title did not work. So the author decided to change the name to SPBRR: Fusion due to the main character focus being on SPBRR.
    • Adding on to it, the author even poked fun of the name in a Chibi skit.
  • The Nightmare boss was originally planned to appear in Chapter 9 of SPBRR: Fusion along with Nettori, but the author decided to end with just Nettori fight instead.
  • Originally Ridley was planned to ambush the heroes after Neo-Ridley fight, however a review made a fun suggestion to Ridley face off against Neo Ridley and the author accepted suggestion.
  • Gambol Shorud was originally going to be destroyed by Ridley, however instead the weapon's sword part was broken thanks to a suggestion.

Super RWBY Galaxy 2: Galactic Conquest Prime

  • Wolf Ruby was originally going to appear in RWBY: Bowser's Inside Story, however the author mentioned he couldn't figure out the best place to put it in. The idea returned after the author start playing Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin and had retooled Wolf Ruby having Zinogre armor and fittingly being renamed Zingore Ruby.
  • Phazon Ruby was originally just a concept before being replaced by Zinogre Ruby, however the author decided to have the form showed off as not to waste it.
  • Nightmare's Boss Subtitle was originally going to be “five nights at Ridley’s 4… oh wait wrong franchise - Nightmare” before being switched to the current one.
  • Caboose summoning the Isle of Armor Sharpedo was meant to appear in Super RWBY Galaxy 1 but the author kept forgetting about it until Super RWBY Galaxy 2: Galactic Conquest Prime and chapter 101 of Super RWBY Gaiden to explain how he got it.
  • Originally Luce de Cosantoir was supposed to have succumb to the pneumonia and died the night after she and Zhang had their big argument. But, when she became more fleshed out, the person creating her realised that with what he had made that she would have been too interesting of a character to simply be a one off. So she was spared, and instead it was made that she had to go to the hospital for pneumonia.

Super RWBY Chibi

  • The RWBY Chibi series was originally going to be set in the Paper Universe. Paper RWBY Chibi, Paper RWBY Chibi: The Thousand Year Door, for example. The author scrapped that, but that didn't stop him from making a spinoff.
  • While Chibi skits don't usually get scrapped, there was one in particular where the author thought of Mario Kart and how if you use a Mushroom recklessly, you'll bump into a wall. He thought it would be fun to include an airplane, a boat and a train. However, he quickly thought against it when he pictured someone using a Mushroom recklessly on a plane and crashing into a wall, same with a boat crashing into an iceberg. The train wasn't scrapped, however.
  • The Chibi skit referencing Eggman pissing on the moon was originally going to be in Chapter 108, but was switched at the last minute for the PSA skit. It appeared in the next chapter, however.
  • Chapter 198 of Chibi was originally going to include MCU sketches from Black Widow Film and Wandavsion after Spiderman: Far from Home but the author was done with writing more the chapter so he decided to end with Far From Home and with two scenes from the Sony Venom film and sequel, plus Deadpool cameo.

RWBY: A Ubiquitous End

  • Seryu was originally planned on being killed off in this story, with Sea5ons, Weiss and Blake all being included. Esdeath would lose an arm during the final battle before delivering the final blow. However, after one of the author friends suggested Seryu's tragic backstory, and then chapter 105 of Super RWBY Gaiden was made, the author and his friends had second thoughts on killing her off. Ultimately, it was changed to Seryu being given a fair trial, getting treatment for her head injury, and getting a second chance to redeem herself in this heavily retold one-shot.

RWBY: Fell Star Strikers

  • Part of Sothis’s plan was originally going to include Super Mushroom disguised as Posion Mushroom. The author decided against this dude to it wanting to “Pull a Yang”.
  • Chapter 6 was originally planned to come out after chapter 132 of Super RWBY Gaiden. However, a discussion with the author and his friends lead to a discussion on Daisy of the Mario Bros series on dedicated wiki to said character. This lead to chapter 11 of Super RWBY PSA being written instead.

Super RWBY 3D Land

  • Originally Weiss was going to obtain a Manaphy egg in Galaxy 2. However, the author said the idea never got around due to how it makes no sense for an egg to be in space. Hence Weiss obtains it in 3D Land instead.
  • Cuphead and Mugman were originally planned to make their debut in this story. However, when the author was finalizing the cast list, they were left out by mistake and it wasn't caught until it was too late. They, along with Miss Chalice, make their debut in the following story, "RWBY and the Seven Sirens".
  • The first concept for Oran was originally wholly different to the end result. The original idea for Oran was an unnamed adult archaeologist armadillo Faunus, who had graduated Beacon a few years earlier and was a massive fanboy of Team STRQ. With there being a further idea to have him hunt for treasures in follow up stories. But when the person creating him couldn’t think of anything beyond that original concept, the idea was scrapped and reworked into the Oran that was seen in 3D Land.

RWBY and the Seven Sirens

However, the author didn't want to do it, with Super RWBY Strikers Charged being written instead. However, the story was brought back upon the author watching the The Runaway Guys's Lets Play and realizing that the idea had potential after all.

RWBY: Wings of Ruin

  • The author originally planned on Pyrrha attempting suicide at Yoshi Falls, only to be rescued by King Dedede. However, after discussing it with his friends, the author decided to avoid the sensitive topic. Instead, the author went with Pyrrha being unwilling to go that route and have Dedede run into her.

WSSP: Frontiers

  • WSSP: Frontiers was originally going to SPRS (Spears) Frontiers, with Ruby as the main star of the story. However, due to Weiss's story arc happening at the time, it made more sense for the author to change it to WSSP: Frontiers instead.

Super RWBY Gaiden

  • Emperor Bowser was originally going to have yellow skin, similar to how Bowser looks. However, as the chapter was nearing closure, the author decided to give him gray skin instead.
  • In Super RWBY Gaiden's 10th chapter, there was originally going to be a scene of a Pangoro walking by and noticing Ruby stripping off her destroyed cloak and would be seen jawdropping at the sight of a near-naked Ruby before putting on Gloria's jacket. It was cut due to the author realizing it was a bit too creepy for Pokemon and RWBY standards... and it just felt awkward.
    • We weren't even going to see Ruby's body, just only Pangoro's reaction.
  • The author stated that they had tried several times to come with a way for Chiaki to appear in the series but couldn't think of anything until they remembered the Universe Reset brought back Akechi, so it could do the same for her.
  • Chapter 149
    • Leon and Sayaka's interactions were originally intended to be off-screen due to them being the author’s least favorite characters. However, fan demand, as well as a desire to expand on Mukuro's feelings for Makoto caused both to be shown.

  • In chapter 231 of Super RWBY Gaiden, it was revealed that The Rising of the Shield Hero series was originally not going to appear in Super RWBY Sisters due to the author not feeling comfortable in bringing in an Isekai anime through the typical portal method. Several years later, one of the author's friends suggested a solution where The Rising of the Shield Hero would instead appear as AU versions living in the world of Dragon Quest XI. The author decided to go with his friend's idea and incorporated the series into Super RWBY Sisters.

Super RWBY IF

  • Originally this story was going to be released after Super RWBY 3D Land. Instead, it came out after RWBY and the Seven Sirens due to the author wanting to work on that story first.
  • The story was originally going to be called Super RWBY Sisters: What if. However, one of the author's friends suggested a shorter but better name in the form of Super RWBY IF.
  • Originally chapter 4 was going to end with Chell giving the Sacred Treasures to Pit. Instead, the author decided to add another Dark Ruby death to end it.
  • In Chapter 26, Hades was going to drop into the group into The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom where Samus was going to pick up some Zonai tech for herself. • Originally chapter 25 was going to include the Twilight Realm. However, after working on chapter for a whole week, the author decided to have chapter end right when they enter the realm.
