"This dandelion seems to mean a lot to a lot of people. Especially my little sister."

Snoopy Presents: It's the Small Things, Charlie Brown is the 47th animated Peanuts special released on Apple TV+.

Charlie Brown and his team are scheduled to play a ball-game against Peppermint Patty and her team but their plans are derailed when Sally spots a dandelion on the pitcher's mound and vows to protect it at all costs.

This special contains examples of:

  • Award-Bait Song: The special’s titular song by Ben Folds.
  • Bittersweet Ending: The dandelion is gone, Charlie Brown's team is defeated by Peppermint Patty's team in a 100-to-nothing loss, but Sally joins the team as an assistant coach while Charlie Brown is inspired by his sister's actions to keep other areas of the world clean.
  • Butt-Monkey: Charlie Brown as usual.
  • Crashing Dreams: The special begins with Charlie Brown dreaming of winning the big game. Just as he's getting a Drench Celebration, he suddenly awakes when he gets hit with water from Snoopy trying to control the hose outside to fill a pool for himself and the birds.
  • A Day in the Limelight: For Sally.
  • Demoted to Extra: Linus and Lucy play smaller roles in this special compared to the previous one.
  • Dream Intro: The special begins with Charlie Brown winning the big game against Peppermint Patty, which turns out to be a dream.
  • Earth Day Episode: The second one in the franchise following It's Arbor Day, Charlie Brown.
  • Epic Fail: We don't see the game being played, but Charlie Brown's team loses 0-100. Since the scoreboard only goes up to two digits, the extra zero had to be painted on the side.
  • Everyone Has Standards: Peppermint Patty and her team (except for Marcie) might be conceited jerks who mock Charlie Brown’s baseball team for being inferior and losing every game, but even THEY’RE shocked when Charlie Brown tries to remove the dandelion.
  • Flower Motifs/Innocent Flower Girl: Sally bonds with the dandelion due to it being all alone on the pitchers mound, just as she feels alone in the baseball game. She also feels unappreciated, just as the dandelion is dismissed as a weed. To further drive the point, the petals are arranged to resemble Sally's haircut.
  • My God, What Have I Done?: Charlie Brown is visibly remorseful when he accidentally rips the dandelion up from the pitcher’s mound and devastates Sally as a result.
  • Orbital Shot: When Charlie Brown sees the newly renovated baseball field.
  • The Runt at the End: Peppermint Patty and her team enter the baseball field on ten-speed bikes, followed by Marcie struggling to keep up on a tricycle.
  • Water Wake-up: Charlie Brown is woken up in the middle of his dream by Snoopy accidentally spraying the garden hose through the window trying to fill a blow-up pool.

"Do the right thing, are you with me, Charlie Brown?"
