Mr Moon is a short-lived, Singaporean-British-Canadian animated series that premiered in 2010. It aired on Playhouse Disney in the UK, and TVOntario and Knowledge Kids in Canada.
The series takes place in outer space, above Earth's atmosphere, and focuses on the titular Mr Moon, who goes on adventures in a little rocket ship during the day, with his star buddies Silva, Gold Star, and Stella. Other core characters include Sunny, Mr Moon's close friend and coworker, and a collection of animals based on constellations.
Tropes:
- A Dog Named "Dog": A crab constellation named Crab.
- Bowdlerise: Of the Zodiac-based constellations, the crab is just named Crab, because naming a character Cancer would not have flown in any television series, let alone one for small children.
- Little Green Man: Anyold the alien is a green man, although he isn't little, and is instead twice the size of the kids.
- Male Sun, Female Moon: Inverted; Mr Moon is male (the man in the moon, if you will), while Sunny is female.
- Meaningful Name: Sunny and Mr Moon are indeed the sun and moon, while Stella is a star and Taurus is a constellation in the shape of a bull.
- Odd Name Out: Mr Moon is the only main character without at least one name beginning with "S"; the others are Sunny, Silva, Gold Star, and Stella.
- Pajama-Clad Hero: The five main characters all wear pyjamas as their primary outfits.
- Pink Means Feminine: Stella wears a pink nightgown.
- Sick Episode: In "Sunny Loses Her Shine", Sunny cannot shine like normal because she's not feeling like herself, so Mr Moon and the stars opt to look after her, and bring some clouds to lie on so Sunny can leave her ladder.
- Title Theme Tune:Silva's here, and Gold Star too, while Sunny shines up high/As Mr Moon goes soaring through the sky!
- Two Shorts: A variant: Episodes have a main story, which takes up about eight minutes of the episode, and then a three-minute short focusing on a short activity.
- Weird Moon: And sun; Sunny and Mr Moon's way of being in Earth's sky in the day and night is standing on a ladder and watching over the planet, and while one is working, the other is free to roam around as they wish.
