What if you could have anything in the world?note

Wishful Thinking is an MS Paint webcomic by Spotlight (Apple youghurt) which was posted on ComicFury, 20th February 2018. It's one of those Object Shows only in a webcomic format.

Enter The Cube where you have the chance to make all your dreams come true. Given that you participate and win in Roulette Wheel's competition otherwise, your wish would be never, ever fulfilled. Sixteen objects have this very opportunity

However, the comic abruptly stopped updating on 28th March 2018 and has been that way ever since, meaning it's either on indefinite hiatus at best or discontinued at worst. Still, you can read the remaining two-and-a-half chapters here.

The webcomic contains the following tropes:

  • A Dog Named "Dog": Or An Object Named "Object" alternatively.
  • An Arm and a Leg: First aid lost their right leg in an unknown accident before the events of the comic and has to walk using crutches.
  • Animate Inanimate Object: Can't have an object show if the entire cast are not living objects of all shapes and sizes.
  • Anthropomorphic Food: Since they're part of Animate Inanimate Object object, you gotta have some in an object show.note
  • Armless Biped: Laptop, Skirt and Watermelon play it straight, Rainbow inverts this but compensates by flying and Shoe lacks any limbs whatsoever.
  • Audience Participation: While the readers can't vote on who leaves, they can recommend their OCs to be drawn into Wishful Thinking as guest judges or background characters. At least that's what was intended before the comic was stricken with perma-hiatus.
  • Left Hanging: The first few chapters and intermission explain how the competition works, establish the characters' personalities and dynamics (Minus Pudding), set up the teams and was about to commence the first challenge... then the comic just stop there for five whole years and still going strong.
  • Out of Focus: Pudding was given the short end of the stick when it comes to characterization and screentime. We don't learn a single thing about or hear her talk before the comic stopped updating.
  • Pun-Based Title: The second chapter is called "Sleeping With The Dishes", a play on the mafia phrase "sleeping with the fishes".
  • Sensitive Guy and Manly Man: Seed and Nacho, an inseparable duo with Nacho being all tough and gruff but has a soft spot for meek, easily scared Seed who clings onto him.
  • Token Flyer: Rainbow whose lack of legs give way to Flight though unlike some examples in the OSC, the flying correlates to the object who has the ability.
  • Translator Buddy: Computer can understand Keyboard since "His music speaks to [them]"
  • The Voiceless: Pudding on the count of being Out of Focus.
