Tree of Life is a Furry comic fantasy adventure series created by Zummeng. The first cover was posted on February 27, 2020. It follows an Ensemble Cast in their younger years and how Luna, the Tree of Life, influenced the various characters to walk the roads that they did. However, all is not well. In a world being savaged and tortured by Chaos, which is growing stronger every year, guardians and gods are becoming fewer and fewer in number.

Years later, Luna announces to the Council of Guardians that she's going to choose the new Knights of Life, a group of brave heroes tasked with saving the world from Chaos' corruption.

Book 0 was concluded on December 30th, 2021, and Book 1 is currently ongoing. It can be found here and you can support the artist on Patreon.

This series provides examples of:

  • Abusive Parents: Nigel's parents pretended that he didn't exist after Luna didn't immediately think he's ready to be a guardian and, according to one of the Patreon Q&As, weren't even concerned about him after he ran away; they gave his younger brother his room and everything he owned and refused to answer Toby's questions about him.
  • Big Bad: Rah'Jan is setting himself up to be this, being responsible for controlling the Chaos that's wrecking the world and corrupting or killing innocent people.
  • Broken Pedestal: Nigel to Luna. As a child, he relentlessly trained to be a guardian, admired Luna, and was adored by his parents, who showered him with praise about how he's going to be the greatest. After she simply said that he wasn't ready yet and could try again next year, his parents almost immediately disowned him and moved on over to his younger brother. He doesn't take it well and runs away from home, blaming Luna for taking his dream, family, and purpose away from him.
  • Catapult Nightmare: Nigel is prone to these, mainly involving the encroaching threat of Rah'Jan and his forces of Chaos.
  • The Corrupter: Rah'Jan has the ability to do this to people, as seen with Lynus' grandson.
  • Detonation Moon: Due to an unknown event, the moon is broken into three separate pieces, although they're thankfully still in orbit next to each other.
  • Interspecies Romance: Alexander, the God of Water is an octopus/squid-like being while his mortal wife, Gloria is a goat woman. As seen often in the author's Crossover County AU, they're Happily Married and Good Parents to their capricorn-like daughter, Lily.
  • Jerkass: In Book 1, years after the previous book, it's shown that Nigel has become an anti-social asshole towards everyone around him and has gotten in trouble numerous times with the guardians. During his conversation with Luna in Book 1, he's still shown to only want the title of Guardian/Knight for the sake of "proving" that he's better than the others and not out of a genuine desire to protect the weak.
  • Killed Offscreen: Apart from Alexander being shown alive and well on the cover, the three other gods shown in his prologue chapter are long dead by the time Book 1 rolls around, shown by Sledar's skull in the Hall of Ancients and one of the characters mentioning that there's no gods left other than Luna (and the unmentioned Alexander.)
  • Massive Multiplayer Crossover: The aptly-titled Crossover County has a majority of the characters from this comic and the author's other works interacting with each other in a moden setting.
  • Seers: Luna is stated to have visions of the future and occasionally makes cryptic remarks, although the growing Chaos is making them not as reliable as they once were.
  • Tentacle Hair: Alexander and his daughter, Lily sport this.
  • Time Skip:
    • Chapters 1 and 2 of Book 0 jumps forward from Miralle's infancy to her pre-teen years.
    • After Book 0, the webcomic jumps forward around ten years.
