Ninja And The Dark Cult is a Web Comic conceived by [Salmon-Of-Mercy], and illustrated by [ibenz009] as a commission. It follows the story of a genderbent, cyborg ninja as she fights off a dangerous group of cultists worshiping a purple crystal as their god and savior attempting to convert multiple victims into golems brainwashed by its power.
It can be tied to the Liquid Mercury comic as part of a larger Fanverse, according to at least one author.
The comic can be seen here, with an account of the first installment written by here.
This comic provides examples of:
- Attack Its Weak Point: Each golem/angel/transformed thrall can be characterized by a diamond-shaped crystalline core in their chests.
- Body to Jewel: How the first girl is transformed in the comic.
- Canon Welding: Because the Ninja has appeared both in this webcomic and the Liquid Mercury webcomic, ibenz009 commissioned CarthagePlate to write a story that ties the two comics together into a single universe as his own AlternateUniverse of the events.
- Chrome Champion: A couple that was transformed by one of the cult's priestesses (along with said priestess herself) in the second installment end up in this manner.
- Didn't See That Coming: The Ninja failed to expect that the couple would regenerate even faster than expected to the point they save the Arc Villain.
- Femme Fatalons: The couple who got transformed sport crystallized versions of these.
- Flechette Storm: The first golem that is encountered, along with the priestess in the second installment, each launch barrages of purple crystalline shards.
- Gem Heart
- Grey Goo: What the enemies in the second installment are made of.
- Healing Factor: All golems have one. Strike them in the core, however ...
- Impaled with Extreme Prejudice: How the Ninja typically attacks her enemies.
- Loophole Abuse:
- Morton's Fork: Because the priestess transformed the couple into golems instead, the Ninja can
- Power Crystal: Each Golem has one.
- Removing the Head or Destroying the Brain: Apparently, the priestess' core in her transformed state is in her forehead, or that it was the last one out of many cores on her body.
- Shock and Awe: The Ninja's signature golden blade can release a powerful bolt of lightning every time she pulls the trigger.
- Thou Shalt Not Kill: Zig-Zagged. Because the Ninja was forced to kill the innocent girl after she became the first golem, she would rather incapacitate the transformed thralls instead. The masters that transformed them, however? Not so much.
