.Glimmer Gobblescrap, a goblin girl and the best artificer in her class, has finally worked up the nerve to ask Celestia Morbosa, the elegant hellbred demon, if she'd like to be friends. Celestia, however, completely and utterly rejects her, calling her pathetic and intolerable. Glimmer, who is used to rejection but has never given up before, is actually turned on by this, and starts to work as hard as she can to convince Celestia to reciprocate her love. However, Glimmer is completely oblivious that even if she succeeds, it will only lead to further peril...

- Cute Monster Girl: All of the monster students and staff of Glimmer's school look like attractive humanoids.
- Determinator: Being flat-out rejected does not deter Glimmer from courting Celestia. The first post-prologue episode has her state that most goblins settle for whatever scraps society gives them, but she's always been more resilient than average.
- Love Letter: Glimmer's first scheme to win Celestia's heart after being rejected is to write the perfect love letter after cross-referencing the most romantic love stories she can research. Celestia uses her demon powers to burn it to ashes without even opening it.
- Slime Girl: Regina Blacksludge, Glimmer's friend, is a mimimg slime that's able to morph her body into a humanoid shape.
- Weather-Control Machine: Glimmer's second attempt to win Celestia's heart is with a Grand Romantic Gesture in the form of using a machine to manipulate clouds into the message "I <3 U". However, the plan has a major flaw: the message isn't addressed, so Celestia doesn't know it's for her.
- Wizarding School: The story's primary setting is the University of Magical Arts, where various non-humans can take classes on things such as artificing and barding.
