Cave In is a Homebrew Video Game by Bjars Compendium and Atari Age.
You play as an Adventure Archaeologist who's exploring a system of caves, hunting for a legendary lost crown said to have been separated into three pieces and hidden in an ancient mine, which are the caves you're exploring. It's also been said that the only place the crown can be reassembled is the royal throne room, which, as luck would have it, is also in those caves.
Once you're inside, though, the entrance caves in, trapping you inside. Now not only must you find the crown, but also your way out. You'll also need to contend with all the wild animals down there.
The game was released for the Atari 2600 in January of 2010.
Cave In contains examples of:
- Adventurer Archaeologist: The Player Character.
- Handguns: Your character has one that he uses to deal with the hostile inhabitants of the cave.
- Item-Drop Mechanic: Sometimes, enemies drop first aid kits when defeated.
- Scary Scorpions: One of the enemy types you face in the game.
- Snakes Are Sinister: Snakes are an enemy you encounter in the game.
