"This story starts with a tragedy."
The movie opening line, spoken by Linda

Five Nights at Freddy's: The animated movie is a fanmade animation made by the Youtube channel Secret4Studio.The story is an Adaptation Deviation and a Alternate Timeline over the popular Five Nights at Freddy's story, taking the (at the time) still growing lore and then expanding it into a fully lenght movie.

The original movie started development in 2015 and was initially released in 2016, being followed by a second hour-lenght movie in 2018. Both movies will later get a Compilation Re-release as a 2 hour long movie in 2018, and later getting a remaster in 2023 in celebration of the official movie being at cinemas.

The plot of the first movie is set in the events of Five Nights at Freddy's 2, with the protagonist being Linda Jones, a Lawful Good woman wanting to put to an end the case of missing childrens inside the pizzeria. The second movie takes place in a mixture of the Five Nights at Freddy's 3 and Sister Location stories and events, narrated by Fiona Scott.

Note: This page will only talk about the two movies and not the extended universe.

The two movies provides examples of:

    Both Movies
  • Adaptation Deviation: The plot of both movies takes a different turn over the now known lore of Five Nights at Freddy's, mostly taking on the growing lore of multiple theories:
    • In this universe there's more than one murderer, in reference to the theory that there were two purple guys during the minigames in Fnaf 2.
    • The 2018/2023 re-releases includes a new section after the first movie part entitled The Puppet's Revenge, being a remade backstory for Elza before being killed. This section also fills the gap better with both movies by adding the new lore that was included in Five Nights at Freddy's 3.
  • Adaptation Name Change: Due to the original movie being developed before Purple Guy had his name, the character here is named after one of the two night guards. Subverted in the second movie, where Fritz changes his name into William Afton.
  • Artifact of Doom: In this universe, the Five Nights at Freddy's 4 box is able to absorb any victim soul, making them unable to ascend to the afterlife.
  • Crossover Alternate Universe: It's implied in the second movie that this universe takes place in the same one as Batman, due to Fiona mentioning Arkham Asylum.
  • Devil in Disguise: The two main villains are demons with purple Glowing Eyes of Doom, which they always show whenever they use their demonic powers. They can also transform into any person they want as long as they possess their soul, and they can disguise their voices in order to blend in with the other humans. In the second movie it's also revealed that they can transform into an even stronger entity.
  • Narrator: Linda narrates the majority of the first movie under her point of view. Elza narrates her backstory during The Puppet's Revenge. Fiona narrates the second movie due to being an explanation of what happened a day prior.
  • Jacob Marley Apparel: All the ghosts appear with how they looked before death.
  • Let the Past Burn: Happens in both movies, where the protagonists are asked to burn the Pizzeria.
  • Shadowed Face, Glowing Eyes: A common trait of the two villains whenever they show their glowing purple eyes

    First movie
  • A.I. Is a Crapshoot: It's implied that the Toy Animatronics are not possessed by the spirits of the dead children, and their behavior is the result of the programming they had.
  • Big Bad: Fritz and Brian, the latter admitting to Linda to actually be Evil All Along and simply playing with her in an attempt to kill her alongside Jeremy.
  • Contrived Coincidence: Linda meets with Brian and Jeremy while searching for proof inside the Pizzeria.
  • Faking the Dead: During the second night in the first movie, there's a shot of Brian car where he's nowhere to be found, giving the impression that he gets Killed Offscreen by Fritz due to his presence.
  • Good All Along: Daniel Smith ends up being Not Evil, Just Misunderstood, as he reveals to Linda how his behavior was to protect the room with Golden Freddy inside.
  • Plot Twist: Daniel reveals to Linda that Fritz wasn't the only brother he had, with the other being Brian.
  • Driven to Madness: The kid possessing the Golden Freddy suit. It's implied by Daniel that being stuck inside the secret room slowly made the kid lose his sanity, to the point of becoming an homicidal maniac and tearing off Jeremy head.
  • Tear Off Your Face: Jeremy gets his face ripped off by Golden Freddy, being referred as the that universe bite of 87.
  • The Bad Guy Wins: Despite Linda attempt to find out about the truth, she gets paralyzed by Fritz and Brian with a knife, and the house later gets burned, killing her off entirely.
    Puppet Revenge
  • Murder by Mistake: Elza and the other spirits ends up killing Michael into the Spingtrap suit in a blind rage, mistaking him for their murderer.

    Second movie
  • Adaptational Timespan Change: The second movie takes place 2 years after the first one, instead of 30 like the original Five Nights at Freddy's timeline.
  • Dark and Troubled Past: Jonathan Schmidt is this universe Crying Child from Five Nights at Freddy's 4, being forced to suffer every night due to the Nightmare Animatronics. To make things worst, he gets killed and then ends up possessing a toy of Foxy, at the cost of losing most of his humanity
  • Destroy the Villain's Weapon: By the ending of the second movie, Jonathan sacrifices himself by turning on the lighter, breaking the box and freeing every soul.
  • Dwindling Party: A writing in the wall implies that "6 will die, 1 will betray, every hour 1 life shall be taken".
  • Back from the Dead: Linda Jones from the first movie comes back as a withered form of Circus Baby, in order to warn the surviving members. Jonathan also gets this fate by possessing the Five Nights at Freddy's World Foxy toy, at the cost of losing most of his humanity.
  • Barred from the Afterlife: All the spirits were unable to ascend from the afterlife due to being sealed inside the Fnaf 4 box. Because of this, their fate ends up becoming homicidal animatronics and puppets for the Big Bad.
  • Flashback: The entire story is set as a retelling of the Fazbear Fright incident by the survivor of the incident.
  • Hallucinations: Emma starts hearing the voices of her dead daughter.
  • Heroic Sacrifice: Emma decides to let herself be killed by Springtrap in order to give Fiona the chance to kill the animatronic once and for all. Later on Jonathan sacrifices himself by setting ablaze the room.

  • Offing the Offspring: Fritz, now under the name of William Afton, ends up leading his son Michael to death, having them killed in the Springtrap suit by Elza.
  • Sole Survivor: Fiona ends up being this, being the only person surviving the Fazbear Fright incident.
  • Summoning Ritual: Joshua Smith summoned the two demons via a demonic ritual, and later he would be possessed by them.
  • The Mole: Ryan, the journalist doing research over the past of Freddy Fazbear Pizza, ends up betraying the group.
  • Token Black Friend: Max is the only character of color out of the entire crew, as he was mailed by William to be the night guard.
  • The Stinger: It's revealed after the credits that one of the two assassins is still alive, and is implied that he takes the soul of Fiona in order to not repeat the same mistake again.
  • Unfinished Business: During the ending, all the ghosts are freed from the box, and under the request of Linda spirit, they all attack and kill William for good.
