Super Duper Gensokyo-level Dangan Ronpa is a Web Original story created by Nico Nico Douga user NOH that is a crossover between Touhou Project and Danganronpa. One day, Yukari Yakumo has kidnapped several Touhou characters and placed them in a Dangan Ronpa style building and is forcing them to play a killing game. If someone commits murder and isn't revealed by a class trial, then they win the killing game. Yukari Yakumo will grant the winner(s) any single wish that they desire. If nobody succeeds in this after 30 days, the killing game will come to an end. Anyone that dies or gets found out as the blackened will become "excluded" from the killing game. When the characters ask Yukari what her goals of this killing game are, Yukari gives the cryptic response that her only goal is to see "hope".

Because the characters involved in this killing game vary vastly in species and power, Yukari Yakumo has brought everyone down to the level of a human. To compensate, each character is assigned a Super Duper Highschool Level title and is given a superpower associated with their characterization.

The story is a work in progress, and as of February 22, 2017, currently goes up to Chapter 2.

Part 1 begins here. YouTube user eeveefruit has an English translation of the story on their channel. Part 1 of the English version begins here.

This show provides examples of

  • Alternate Timeline: In chapter 2, Marisa Kirisame steals a video from Chen and watches it with Reimu Hakurei and Sanae Kochiya. It features a class trial where the first victim is Satori Komeiji and Aya Shameimaru is still alive and playing the role of protagonist. They speculate that someone won Yukari's killing game and used their wish to start everything over.
  • Born Lucky: Tewi Inaba and Sanae Kochiya both have luck-based superpowers. Sanae's is stronger than Tewi's and will overpower it if they clash, but Tewi can lend her luck to another character.
  • Breaking the Fourth Wall: The game introduction begins with a mock Nonstop Debate where the characters address the audience directly. Yukari Yakumo also addresses the audience as an Author Avatar similar to Monokuma's theater, except Yukari will often answer questions that were asked in the comments.
  • Brought Down to Normal: Every participant in the killing game.
  • Call-Back: Many elements from the original Dangan Ronpa games are recycled, such as the gold plated sword that Makoto Naegi kept in his room and the night vision goggles that Byakuya Togami brings with him in case of a blackout.
  • Competitive Balance: The character superpowers vary between making them dangerous in combat or giving them powerful investigation tools that can be used to give false testimony. For example, if Fujiwara no Mokou becomes a murder victim, she will be brought back to life so she can participate in the class trial, before being removed from the game. This not only makes Mokou difficult to target, but Aya Shameimaru also warns Reimu Hakurei that Mokou could use her power to commit suicide and tell everyone that she was murdered, and potentially win the killing game this way. Its weakness is that it entirely revolves around Mokou being killed.
  • Hidden Villain: Inverted Trope. Yukari Yakumo introduces herself as the mastermind and regularly interacts with the killing game participants.
  • Magic A Is Magic A: Each character superpower and ultimate weapon are given very specific and detailed descriptions as to what they are capable of, and what limitations they have. If someone raises a question about these descriptions in the comments, Yukari will begin the next part by answering it.
