"Let's begin the 'Coward Extermination Program'."

Brave Danganronpa: Coward's Paradise is an upcoming fan-made Danganronpa Visual Novel created by shsl-gitaroo. Done in web video format, it aims to emulate the feel and aesthetics of previous titles while not having anything to do with the original canon continuity.

You can follow the series on Tumblr at Brave Danganronpa or on Twitter under the url shslgitaroo

Tropes in Brave Danganronpa: Coward's Paradise include:

  • All There in the Manual: A majority of the characters' biographies and personal information can be found on the web page Brave Danganronpa.
  • Breaking Old Trends:
    • The protagonist of this game has an actual talent and is portrayed with a serious and confident personality in contrast to canon protagonists.
    • This killing game does not feature an Ambiguously Brown girl.
    • Anko, the Ultimate ???, actually knows her talent and identity but chooses to keep it a secret from everyone.
  • Casting Gag: There's a ton of them with regards to Super Danganronpa Another 2.
    • Urara Amemiya is voiced by InsomniaVA, who also did Iroha Nijiue. Both of them have art-related talents, an interest in manga (with that being Urara's talent as a mangaka in general), and having similar costumes (with the cap).
    • Both casts have characters who are the Ultimate Journalist and Ultimate Actress. Mitsuba's VA, Arakachi, also does Yoruko Kabuya, who is in the same class as another journalist (Nikei Yomiuri). Stella's VA, ArtimissVA, also does Setsuka Chiebukuro, who is bunked with another actress (Emma Magorobi) who even shares a VA with Rei Tsujii (AtsuyoVA).
    • Similarly, Rei Tsuji's VA, AtsuyoVA also did Emma Magorobi. Note that Emma, being the Ultimate Actress, can portray a variety of emotions, whereas Rei is a stoic who has trouble expressing them.
    • Hiroto Akagi is voiced by sword of swords, who in SDRA2, plays the villainous Mikado Sannoji, the Big Bad of that game.
    • Oddly, Anko Hibana is voiced by Eli, who also did Kanade Otonokoji, both of whom have some interest in the macabre and the human anatomy, especially Kanade who's a Serial Killer.
    • Ume Omori is voiced by Siri/Sierra, who also did Kokoro Mitsume, both of whom have a "sixth sense" about people and usually work alone. Whereas Ume Omori deals with the supernatural, Kokoro excels in a realistic field of study.
  • Call-Back: There are several references to the Danganronpa series the fangame is based on.
  • Central Theme: It's all but stated that the main theme will be bravery vs cowardice.
  • Chuunibyou: The Uncool Brother, Uncool Sister interlude reveals Hiroto's sister, Akira, to be this. She wears a medical eyepatch as an Eyepatch of Power, and talks in flowery language about her "cursed eye".
  • Color-Coded Characters: The cast has an ongoing color motif, even forming a square with a distinct color palette.
    • Hiroto: Red
    • Anko: Crimson Red
    • Hana: Light Pink
    • Kazuya: Light Blue
    • Ichirou: Deep Purple
    • Yukio: Light Orange
    • Rei: Blue
    • Ume: Deep Pink
    • Stella: Yellow
    • Urara: Purple
    • Hibiki: Pink
    • Daigo: Black
    • Goro: Orange
  • Painting the Medium: Coward's Paradise will include many elements from V3 such as Scrum Debates.
  • Recurring Element: Likewise, there are some familiar character archetypes.
    • Hibiki is a student with a music themed talent.
    • Yukio is a Tiny Schoolboy.
    • Stella is a girl with a foreign background and a Western first name.
    • Goro is the Big-Hearted Muscle of the group.
    • Ume is the Magical Weirdo.
    • Daigo has a criminally-oriented talent.
    • Kazuya is the antagonistic Jerkass.
  • Shout-Out:
    • While looking at a treadmill, Hiroto notices that the settings go from turtle to cheetah to hedgehog.
    • When Stella is doing her Mean Character, Nice Actor bit, she insists that Hiroto get her some mineral water and says that she won't accept any that isn't from France.
