is a fan-made spinoff channel of the SMG4 series featuring Luigi. It is based on Luigi's channel as it was portrayed in the SMG4 blooper "MarioTube".Unlike SMG4, which focuses on storytelling, Weegeepie primarily makes gaming videos with the same animating style and hilarity as the inspired series.
This channel includes examples of:
- All for Nothing: All of Luigi's training to beat SMG4 in "Luigi Plays: MARIO VS LUIGI ONLINEEE" ends up being for naught as Luigi loses again at the very last second.
- Alternate Universe: An attempted aversion, but ultimately Played Straight. "Luigi Plays: MINECRAFTTT WITH TARI!!! (& bedwars too)" is clearly meant to take place after "my new adventure", but following WOTFI 2022, Weegeepie declared this to be the case, shown by his cast retaining their original, pre-redesign looks. This was confirmed to be because of both the contentious redesigns and implied to be because of Weegeepie's implied dislike toward the direction the canon series was going in.
- Anti-Climax: The final round of "MARIO'S SQUID GAME" features Luigi pitted against Old Man Hobo. The 1v1 barely lasts a second before the latter has a heart attack and dies.
- Ascended Extra:
- SLG4 was a One-Shot Character who was Killed Off for Real at the end of his debut episode in his home series. Here, he's Luigi's Arch-Enemy who tends to play games with him too. Most of this is attributed to Weegeepie's long-time friend, RaymanPotatoes, suggesting his inclusion and the character essentially becoming his avatar.
- Downplayed with Tari. She gets about the same amount of focus here as she does in canon, but her presence here as one of Luigi's gaming buddies is felt more due to the Minimalist Cast.
- A Day in the Limelight:
- Tari gets quite a few, such as "Luigi Plays: MINECRAFTTT WITH TARI!!! (& bedwars too)"
- Mario spotlights in the second half of "Luigi Plays: SLENDERRR (with Mario???)".
- Author Avatar:
- While Luigi served as this for most of the channel's early life, Lucas took over as a proper one starting with the 1 million subscriber special.
- SLG4 is one to RaymanPotatoes, Weegeepie's friend IRL.
- Button Mashing:
- Luigi does this often, especially in the speedrun levels in the Super Mario Maker 2 videos.
- Luigi does this partway through Zavodila and is equal parts shocked and annoyed that it works.
- Bait-and-Switch: At the climax of "Luigi Plays: PORTALLL", Luigi seems to be about to fight GLaDOS in her home game, only to suddenly start flying and placing dynamite, revealing that this segment is being done in Garry's Mod.
- Cool and Unusual Punishment: Luigi threatens to turn whoever doesn't subscribe to him into a goomba... although the threat doesn't have the intended effect on a viewer who's already a Goomba.
- Earn Your Happy Ending: "If Mario was in... Splatoon 2" is two-fold, as both plots end with Mario and Luigi winning Splatfest and saving Callie from DJ Octavio, respectively.
- Epic Fail: Luigi is prone to this, often accompanied by a reaction, be it staring at the camera or Flipping the Bird.
- Fan Sequel:
- Weegeepie made his own version of "If Mario was in... Splatoon 2" a year before SMG4's official follow-up.
- "MarioTube 3...?" is a sequel to the events of the canon "MarioTube 2", showcasing what everyone is doing with their channels 5 years later.
- Weegeepie made his own version of "If Mario was in... Splatoon 2"
- Fish Eyes: Mario, as per usual. Luigi also does this almost as often as him. There's also SLG4, who has this face almost all the time, and sometimes, Tari.
- The Fourth Wall Will Not Protect You:
- In-Universe:
- "Luigi Plays: BALDI'S BASICS FIELD TRIP DEMOOO" ends with Luigi passing out after getting jumpscared by Baldi, only for Baldi to appear in the castle basement, kidnap Luigi, then kill him in the same campsite shown in the demo.
- At the end of the Five Nights At Freddys VR Help Wanted video, after he's just been jumpscared by Foxy moments prior, Luigi tries to do the outro only for the castle's power to shut off and Freddy to show up.
- In Luigi's second attempt at Friday Night Funkin, he laughs triumphantly before flipping off Tankman after finishing the first song. Tankman promptly reaches out of the monitor just to bitch slap Luigi across the room.
- Out of Universe:
- The 2018 Halloween Special intro has MEEĈEEbIE, who replaces Luigi, turn toward the viewer in the intro's final frames.
- In-Universe:
- Gone Horribly Wrong: The Green Star from "The Invincibility Curse" was an experiment by E. Gadd meant to make its user immortal. It ended up making Luigi invincible forever instead, making him a danger to anyone who came into contact with him.
- Guest Strip: He edited the first few scenes of SMG4's "To Become A God" video.
- Minimalist Cast: Outside of the blooper episodes, the videos usually only star Luigi, have the occasional appearances of SLG4 and Tari and have the rarer cameos of other characters.
- Mood Whiplash: "L is REAL" is an impactful short video, with the lingering shot of the official Luigi model looking at Weegeepie's Luigi carrying all the gravitas of a 24-year-old fan theory and one of gaming's biggest mysteries being proven real and put to rest. The video then abruptly and comically ends with Weegeepie's Luigi shooting him.
- Oh, Crap!: Luigi's reaction in Part 3 of his Super Mario Maker 2 playthrough when he realizes it took him over half the video's runtime to beat the first fan level.
- Original Character:
- moyaigaming212, a YouTube channel featuring a living moai head that is introduced in "Luigi Plays: MARIO KART WII".
- Lucas, a proper Author Avatar for Weegeepie who is introduced in the 1 million special.
- Rage Quit:
- Some Super Mario Maker levels end with Luigi hitting his limit followed by him either moving on to the next level or the video abruptly ending.
- After failing multiple times on Ballistic in his first playthrough of Friday Night Funkin', Luigi enters the game and proceeds to murder Whitty in retaliation.
- Running Gag:
- Luigi being a furry whenever he gets a Super Bell.
- Characters shooting themselves with guns whenever they're frustrated.
- Shout-Out:
- Retains the Jacksepticeye-esque intro from the original MarioTube video.
- The thumbnail for "Luigi Plays: PORTALLL" is directly inspired by the one for SMG4's "If Mario was in...Portal" video.
- Spared by the Adaptation: SLG4 and Desti are alive and well here.
- They Killed Kenny Again: Swag dies four times in "MARIO'S SQUID GAME", only to come back completely fine each time.
- Take That!:
- The opening of "Luigi Plays: AMONG USSS" is one toward obsessive fans of Among Us. This is, of course, before Luigi goes to play the game himself.
- "So... Those SMG4 redesigns" is this toward the WOTFI 2022 redesigns introduced in SMG4. They're all portrayed here as hallucinations from Lucas, who becomes increasingly distressed and angry with each one he sees. This culminates in Lucas shooting Boopkins at the end when he sees his redesign, which was commonly called the worst of them all.
- The entirety of "...WHAT? - Luigi Plays: GARTEN OF BANBAN" is one toward the games in question.
- The end of "TARI TIME | Luigi Plays SUPER LUIGI MAKER 2 ft. Tari" has one toward Tari's redesign in SMG4. Luigi holds up a picture of said redesign when saying he's gonna miss her, only to react with disgust and throw the picture away once he sees it.
- Troll: Luigi is sometimes prone to this in multiplayer games, such as messing with other players or screwing with Tari and SLG4 when they show up.
