Battle On Murder Island is a web-animated Object Show created by The Mediocre Animator
. The series began on 11th April 2021 which is surprising given how notably old-school the art style and animation are.
Contains the following tropes:
- A Dog Named "Dog": The only three objects that are named directly after their species are Pop, Soda and Smartphone whereas everyone else goes by A Lizard Named "Liz".
- A Lizard Named "Liz": The show gets creative with these names rather than just slapping on a "-y" suffix. It comes in two variants:
- Combining pre-existing human names with objects - Combhar, Cordon, Pinda, Peachie and Sweets
- Having Punny Names based on their objects - Piper (Bagpipes), Stabbington (Knife), Woodruff (Stick), Squirt (Lotion Bottle), Pop (Soda bottle in addition to being a grandpa) and Q (Q-tip)
- Animate Inanimate Object: Since it’s an Object Show, all of the characters are living objects.
- Anthropomorphic Food: Peachie, Pop, Soda, and Sweets are all living foods and drinks as well as the Baker's Dozen (Specifically thirteen donuts for those unfamiliar with baking terms).
- Armless Biped: Although it has no straight examples, the show has many inversions note and limbless examplesnote .
- Audience Participation: While they cannot vote to eliminate per usual Object Show tradition, the viewers can vote for their favorite contestant to win a prize each episode.
- Non-Mammalian Hair: Piper has a beard even though bagpipes don't normally grow one.
- Retraux: The series has an art style that takes inspiration from early 2000s internet animation such as Newgrounds even though it was released nearly two decades ahead.
