Widow Tweed is actually Rachel Simpson from the Twilight Zone episode “The Hunt”
Rachel was played by the same actress (Jeannette Nolan) who voiced Widow Tweed. In the episode, she becomes a widow when her husband and his hound dog (who she never particularly liked) drown while hunting raccoons.
Since then, she’s been living alone and started going by the name Tweed instead (perhaps her middle name, maiden name, or just a nickname). She ends up befriending a fox and getting into fights with a hunter who uses hound dogs. It’s not the first time she’s had issues with hound dogs or hunting, after all, that’s why she became a widow in the first place.
