Since Pedro Araujo likes to mix elements from the remakes with the events of the original games, like with Leaf in Red Fanmade, Lyra will be introduced at some point in the story (presumably related to the Route 34 Daycare Attendants and owning a Marill as a Mythology Gag to her games self as an NPC). She could either be a quick cameo, Gold's Love Interest and/or Kris' Sitcom Archnemesis (to reference the jokes made by the fanbase at Kris' expense when Lyra was introduced to replace her in the remakes).
- Unfortunately for Lyra, she has no chance to be Ethan's Love Interest, since that spot was already taken by Whitney.
- In Episode 20, Kris wears a Farm Girl outfit that does resemble her Adventures counterpart, Crystal, in the Heart Gold and Soul Silver arc. Said design is based on Lyra.
- Lyra does make a cameo in episode 31, but she's as young as Youngster Joey.
As seen both in the Red series and the first part of the Gold series, the Kanto Gym Leaders see Red not as a mere champion, but as a friend, and they were devastated when he went missing. So after seeing Ethan's performance against the Johto Gym Leaders, the Kanto Gym Leaders will ask Ethan to find Red, who they'll describe as an old friend. Ethan will recognize Red as the Indigo League Champion, so he'll want proof they see him as a friend, leading to the battles against the Kanto Gym Leaders. After Ethan will be convinced (likely Misty, Lt. Surge, Erika, Janine and Blue will do most of the work since Misty is Red's lover, Lt. Surge is Red's mentor, Erika is Red's sister's mentor, Janine owes Red a favor for helping Koga join the Elite Four, and Blue is, in Red's eyes, the other Indigo League Champion), he'll end up looking for Red at Mt. Silver, the last place Red was seen, and after a heated fight where Red and Ethan will argue on whether or not people see Red as merely a champion (it's well-established Red dislikes fame), Ethan will convince Red to return to Kanto (we know Ethan will succeed to convince Red from the flash-forward scenes from the Red series, which take place after Sun and Moon, which takes place long after Gold and Silver).
Just coming with this theory because he's dating Whitney, who, if I am to take a wild guess, is as old as Daisy Oak, and I don't think Ethan himself is older than Silver, who was a kid during the Red series. And the Gold series takes place eight years after the Red series. Though if I'm not mistaken, the age gap between Daisy and Silver isn't all that great, since otherwise Ethan and Whitney's relationship would have... complications.
- Moreover, the Time Skip of eight years means that Ethan must be around 18 years old himself - a young adult, so the age gap between the two shouldn't cause unfortunate implications.
- Also, why did Ethan challenge Red in the epilogue of Pokémon Red? He knew the cold atop Mt. Silver has weakened Red's Pokémon, and he was asking Red for a fair and square rematch.
- Other two pieces of evidence supporting this: when he exiled himself to Mt. Silver, Red brought his Eevee, which evolved into Espeon in the meantime, instead of Lapras; and Ethan is similar to Blake in that they both had Cyndaquill as their starters, both are very reckless and determined, and both pay dearly for their recklessness (Blake with his life, Ethan by going broke trying to beat Whitney).
- The "Pokemon Tales: Lost Champion" animation and the teaser for Episode 17 make some nods to another creepypasta commonly associated with Easter Egg: Snow on Mt. Silver, namely Pokémon Lost Silver. The former is a monochrome animation about a lost champion (none other than Red) who wants his achievements to be forgotten (as his lines "I want my life back... Someone please take this gold medal away from me..." seem to imply), while the teaser for Episode 17 show Gold holding a Cyndaquill named Hurry, with fans theorizing that Lost Silver will be a Nightmare Sequence. (Given how Episode 16 ended with Gold challenging Morty, it's possible the Lost Silver reference will be a case of Mind Rape Morty gives Gold, much like how Sabrina gave one to Red.)
- Confirmed about Morty (or rather his Gengar) using Mind Rape to reference Lost Silver.
- Likely jossed. When Jasmine appears, she and Whitney appear to be friends and there are no signs of jealousy on Whitney's part regarding Gold.
- Pedro said in a comment that it is indeed his intent to have May be the protagonist of the Gen 3 series, mainly because he prefers her design over Brendan's.
- This theory can further be extended to Dawn being The Hero of the Gen 4 series, what with her cameo in Episode 21.
- Confirmed beyond a shadow of doubt. In Episode 23, we have some flashbacks of Jasmine and May playing together under Norman's watch, and of May moving to Hoenn eight years ago. Jasmine also stated that May has a full set of eight badges from Hoenn, with Silver then lamenting that May is just like Red and Blue who both have eight badges while Silver himself has no badges and Gold imposing on himself the challenge of obtaining sixteen badges. This brings in the possibility that May is the champion of Hoenn since both Red and Blue are champions.
- Jossed per Word of God. In the comments for Episode 26, Pedro specifically says it was Red thunderbolting the balloons.
- Whitney is one of two Gym Leaders who are confirmed having access to a medicine that counters Team Rocket's radio wave sickness (the other being Jasmine). There's a good chance she'll team up with Gold and Kris, much to Team Rocket's horror when a Gym Leader shows up unexpectedly.
- Jossed. Because of a Team Rocket attack, Whitney is too injured to help.
- Confirmed. May not only comes to help (at Jasmine's request), but she also brings Rayquaza.
- Jossed. Quilava evolved while fighting the Red Gyarados. Though just like Red's Charmeleon, Quilava evolved to defend his trainer.
