Just Cause 3 will take place in Qurac
We've already done the Banana Republic and a Southeast Asian dictatorship. Now Ruritania is another possibility, but the Middle East seems like it would be a better choice, since that's where the world's attention is right now, and the publishers will definitely want to take advantage of it.
  • Of course, that's also assuming the developers will risk the content being "too soon" for The War on Terror generation.
  • I'd actually like to see it happen this way, on an island chain of the coast of Africa somewhere
  • Jossed, Just Cause 3 has been confirmed to take place in The Mediterranean, specifically, a fictitious island nation called Medici.

Just Cause 3 will have Demons
Doom and Hellgate: London will both get Shout Outs, and the final battle will be more epic than anything that has happened so far.
  • Jossed, the boss fight was against Di Ravello and utter crap.

Di Ravello or someone related to him used to be a friend to Rico in some capacity
The developers have stated on the forums that Rico and Di Ravello have some sort of personal history, but it's not revealed as of yet what exactly. It would be logical to assume that Di Ravello, or one of his relatives, used to be Rico's friend when he still lived in Medici, and supported him somehow (perhaps by helping him get into autosport) before he was recruited into the Agency.
  • Jossed. Di Ravello was the one who sent Rico to the Agency.

Di Ravello is a Badass Driver just like Rico, and the ending of the game will involve a car chase
This one of those truly wild wild mass guesses, but a perfect finale for the game would be Rico chasing down Di Ravello's plane like he did in the first game with Mendoza's plane - only for Di Ravello to bail out of the plane in a sports car, land on a road, and for Rico to give chase with the wingsuit and other cars, drifting along mountain roads and jumping over precipices, and culminating in a brutal fistfight on top of Di Ravello's speeding car as it hurtles towards a cliff and over its edge.
  • That would have actually been better than the actual final fight.

Di Ravello's plan to Take Over the World involves EMP weapons
According to the game's lead dev, Roland Lesterlin, Medici is the only place in the world where Bavarium can be found, and this mineral has "very explosive and weirdly magnetic" properties. Therefore, it isn't a huge stretch to imagine that it can produce strong electromagnetic pulses if exploded in the right way - like a real-world explosively-pumped flux compression generator - and that Di Ravello is planning to use this property of Bavarium to create powerful electromagnetic weapons that will allow him to disable the world's strongest armies, wreak havoc on communications infrastructure, and claim the entire world with only token resistance.

Di Ravello killed Rico's parents
An interview with Roland Lesterlin confirmed Rico lost his parents during his years in Medici before joining The Agency. This could be because, during his racing years, Di Ravello began his takeover of Medici and Rico tried to oppose him. This resulted in his parents being murdered by either Di Ravello's forces or by Di Ravello himself, forcing Rico to flee Medici and seek help elsewhere. In Just Cause 3, he is returning to Medici after personally killing two dictators like Di Ravello to finally avenge his parents and free their homeland from his grasp. But...
  • Confirmed. Di Ravello had Rico's home burnt down, leaving Rico a survivor who was coincidentally "rescued" by the Agency.

The Agency is in cahoots with Di Ravello
...The Agency refused to let Rico return to his home and fight Di Ravello because they do business with him in exchange for Bavarium, Medici's precious minerals. This is why Rico decided to leave The Agency rather than fight them and join with the Rebels instead, who are said to be Rico's old friends. Di Ravello could use his contacts in The Agency to force them to turn against Rico completely and send in other agents to kill him.
  • Confirmed in the Story Trailer.
Tom Sheldon: You see Sebastiano Di Ravello is sitting on a ton of Bavarium, which makes him the Agency's best goddamn friend.

Di Ravello will turn out to be a Disc-One Final Boss
The real final boss will be Tom Sheldon after he's revealed to be a mole for The Agency who were just using Rico and the Rebels to take out Di Ravello so they can swoop in and take control of Medici and its Bavarium for themselves. Rico will have to fight his ex-mentor for real this time and possibly destroy all the Bavarium so no-one else can use it a la the last game.
  • Unfortunately jossed, Di Ravello is truly the final boss... and not a very good one at that either.
