Diamond Wolfe and Victor Flint

Kiss of Death is a book in the Choices: Stories You Play series.

Two rival families, and a forbidden love. Will this love survive?

The book is released for VIP players on November 25, 2022 and for everyone on February 10, 2023.

Kiss of Death includes examples of:

  • Anger Born of Worry: In Chapter 2, Diamond's best friend Faith calls her out for sending an ominous text about her life being in danger and leaving her worried sick about her best friend.
Faith: On what planet is "I'm ok, somebody tried to kill me, talk later" an acceptable text? At four frickin' AM, Diamond! And then you went totally dark!
  • Assassination Attempt: It happens many times in history... and they all failed.
  • Attention Deficit... Ooh, Shiny!: Faith, Diamond's best friend, is mentioned to have ADHD by Pixelberry. In-story, she's shown to be quite a Motor Mouth, rather emotional, fiercely loyal, and a drama-loving party girl with No Sense of Personal Space (the latter by her own admission).
  • Bad Guy Bar: Or Club. Club Caviar belonged to the Flints until Diamond led an attack that conquered that territory and made the protagonist own that place, where dubious people appear and it is in this place that Diamond can corrupt Detective Hannah.
  • Big Bad: Dylan Flint was the man behind all the attacks against the Wolfes and all behind Nadia's back.
  • Black Market: The Wolfes and Flints own illegal businesses, which is also why they broke their ties and started a war.
  • Character Customization: The player can choose Vic's gender and ethnicity. The name changes according to the gender, being Victor if male and Victoria if female. The middle name changes according to Vic's ethnicity: Raja (Afro), Basco (Native American) and Prozorov (Caucasian).
  • The Don: Beckham Wolfe, Diamond's father and her family crime boss.
  • Evil Versus Evil: The two families of the most powerful gangsters, Wolfe and Flint, are at war for control of the city.
  • Feuding Families: Wolfe vs. Flint.
  • Forbidden Love: Diamond and Vic are members of two enemy clans, the Wolfe and the Flint.
  • Foreshadowing: Early on, Roy is assigned as Diamond's new bodyguard after her previous one was killed, and Diamond's mother sarcastically tells Diamond to "not get this one killed as well". Chapter 17 rolls around, and guess what happens?
  • Gender-Blender Name: Vic's real name changes depending on gender: Victor for a male, Victoria for a female.
  • Hello, [Insert Name Here]: As with all Choices characters, you can name your character. The default name here is Diamond Wolfe.
  • In Love with the Gangster's Girl: Vic can confess his love for Diamond during the story and can become mutual if Vic is also a woman.
  • Knight Templar Parents: Beckham and Zarya became so for Diamond after Clyde, Diamond's older brother, died in a gang war seven years ago and she was almost murdered in an ambush planned by the Flint family, in which Corina, Diamond's former bodyguard, was killed.
  • Mafia Princess: Diamond hails from a powerful crime family.
  • Mob War: It happened in Chapter 1 where Diamond is attacked by Flint's men, but manages to escape. In Chapter 2 it is revealed that Diamond's older brother Clyde was killed in a war against the Flints.
  • The Queenpin: Nadia Flint, Vic's stepmother and his/her family crime boss.
  • Star-Crossed Lovers: Diamond and Vic are divided by their love for each other and their loyalty to their clan.
  • Tattooed Crook: Vic has a shoulder tattoo.
  • Title Drop: In chapter 15, Faith expresses worry that Diamond’s parents will give her the titular kiss of death if they discover her relationship with Vic, a kiss on the forehead which is the last display of affection a gang member gives to a family member before disowning them. Diamond doesn’t get one but Dylan gets one from Nadia after Diamond exposes him as the one who had been heating up the war between the two families.
