Featuring: Dee Dee (red), Anita (blue), Teyana (green) and Maia (purple).

Getaway Girls is one of the many stories under the Choices: Stories You Play collection.

A vacation-themed book with a mainly-Black cast that follows four family members (two sisters and their cousins) on a trip to the Bahamas. It was released for VIP players of January 25, 2023, and for everyone on March 15, 2023.

Getaway Girls includes examples of:

  • Alliterative Name: The default name for the main character is Teyana Thompson.
  • Artifact Alias: Juanita Carter is known by the pseudonym Anita Descartes.
  • Belligerent Sexual Tension: Anita and Imani who can’t seem to decide whether they want to make out or slap each other.
  • The Cameo: A premium scene in Chapter 5 has Piper as a producer in "Cretaceous Playground."
  • Cast Full of Gay: Downplayed in comparison to quite a few other Choices stories, but Anita is a Lipstick Lesbian, Maia is aro-ace, and Teyana can be customized as queer if her love interest and/or ex are female, leaving Dee Dee as the only straight protagonist in the book.
  • Character Customization: The player can customize appearance, hairstyle and name, but not ethnicity. Jordan can be customized and unlike Teyana, player can customize ethnicity and gender. If Jordan is Caucasian or Black his last name is Parker but if he is Indian then his last name is Paudwal.
  • Colour-Coded for Your Convenience: Each of the four girls has a colour associated with them. It shows up as the colour of the heart that denotes romantic choices and the colour of the bond symbol that appears when the girls' bond increases:
    • Teyana: Green
    • Anita: Blue
    • Dee Dee: Red
    • Maia: Purple
  • Continuity Nod: Two of the actors filming on location are Matt Rodriguez and Tinsley Ackerby. Anita herself knows Tinsley.
  • Finale Title Drop: During the Group Picture Ending, Teyana has the option of saying "Getaway Girls!" instead of "cheese" as the picture is taken.
  • Hard-Drinking Party Girl: Maia is the hardest one who drinks like a fish and nearly gets the party thrown out of the hotel from her antics. Her title is "The Mess."
  • Hello, [Insert Name Here]: As with all Choices characters, you can name your character. The default name here is Teyana, but Thompson is the fixed surname.
  • Lawyer-Friendly Cameo: "Cretaceous Playground" is the Choices equivalent of Jurassic Park.
  • Love Interests: Jordan to Teyana, Andre Cole to Dee Dee and Imani King to Anita.
  • Masculine–Feminine Lesbian Couple: Imani is more masculine while Anita is more feminine.
  • Next Sunday A.D.: Inverted, the story takes place during the Summer of 2022, while the book was released in early 2023.
  • Recycled Premise: This book borrows many elements from Rules of Engagement, including (but not limited to):
    • The book has a protagonist of fixed ethnicity: African-American, while Katie is Filipino.
    • The book's plot focuses on a vacation trip and one of the playable characters (Anita and Nicole) is on business during the trip.
    • The family that is traveling follows a pattern: three sisters and a cousin.
    • Both protagonists were cheated by their fiancés revealed in the first chapter: Katie by Trent and Teyana by Kamali.
    • Each playable character has a different love interest.
  • Switching P.O.V.: The game tells the story of the members of the same family and allows the player to interact by playing with Teyana, Dee Dee, Anita and Maia.
  • Wardrobe Malfunction: In Chapter 1, it's revealed Anita has been going through a scandal over a bikini she modeled becoming see-thru. Anita defends it by saying she had no idea the fabric would go sheer when it reacts to chlorine.
  • Worst Wedding Ever: In Chapter 1, just as Teyana is about to be married to Kam, her new husband or wife, everyone's phones blow up to reveal they cheated on her with their boss. She proceeds to leave them at the altar.
  • Your Mom: A premium scene in Chapter 12 has Maia throw shade at Jasmin for all the grief she's given her over the course of the book, resulting in this trope being passed back and forth.
Maia: Yo momma's so old, she walked into an antique shop and they tried to keep her!
Jasmin: Yo momma's so ugly, when she walked into a bank, they turned off all the security cameras!
Maia: Yo momma's so old, when you brought home your history book, she thought it was her journal!
