Yohane, a fortune teller in Numazu who spends her everyday life with her friends, comes into possession of an old mirror.

Yohane, whose fortune telling is not very accurate, tries "Magic Mirror Fortune Telling" using the mirror but suddenly gets sucked into it and ends up in the world inside. The world, which she named "Reverse Numazu", is a mysterious world where magic can be used with the use of cards and whose appearance changes every time she enters it.

Meanwhile, her friends mysteriously start feeling ill one by one. Yohane, determined to save them, goes through Reverse Numazu. In the world inside the mirror, what awaits Yohane? After numerous choices, which future will Yohane choose at the end of this new adventure?

Yohane the Parhelion -NUMAZU in the MIRAGE- is a Roguelike Deckbuilding Game greatly inspired by Slay the Spire based on the Yohane the Parhelion -SUNSHINE in the MIRROR- Spin-Off from the Love Live! series. It was developed and published by BeXide Inc. and released on February 22, 2024 for the PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch and PC via Steam.

This game provides examples of:

  • Assist Character: How Summon Magic works in this game. You can have up to 3 Summon Cards and the summoned character provides passive support that lasts for three turns before leaving the battle.
  • Adam Smith Hates Your Guts: The "Remove Card" in the shop increases every time you buy it.
  • Action Bomb: Mountain enemies can erupt as an attack, killing itself and dealing massive damage.
  • And Your Reward Is Clothes: You can buy clothes for Yohane using reputation points with each outfit giving you a different starting card and charm.
  • Armor-Piercing Attack:
  • Be Yourself: Near the end of the game, the mirror can grant Yohane's childhood dream to be a cool powerful wizard at the expense of everyone living in real Numazu. In the end, Yohane chooses to remain as her current self together with her friends. She can become better at fortune telling and magic one step at a time and she will do it with everyone.
  • Card Cycling: You's "Special Sailor Curry" removes one card in your hand from play to draw two cards.
  • Cast from Hit Points: Power style has cards that do this.
    • Yohane's "Rain Girl" deals three damage to self for 16 damage.
    • Yohane's "Final Curse Project" deals six damage to self for 16 damage and drawing one card.
  • Color-Coded for Your Convenience: Besides the usual use of each character's image color, there is also red for attack cards, blue for spell cards and purple for enchantment cards.
  • Critical Status Buff: Some charms like "Sleepy Chika", "Sleepy You", "Sleepy Riko" and "Sleepy Kanan" gives you buffs when under a certain HP percent.
  • Deader than Dead: The "Fade" effect removes the card from play for the remainder of the current battle.
  • Death of a Thousand Cuts: 0-cost attack cards like Lailaps' "Playful Bites" often deal small damage but since there is no cost, you can play them as often as you have them on hand leading to this.
  • Deckbuilding Game: You start with a new deck every time you enter Reverse Numazu and you acquire new cards over the course of your journey there.
  • Deck Clogger: Some enemies and cursed charms give out Curse cards which are shuffled into your deck.
  • Discard and Draw: Some events require you to give up HP, money, cards or charms in exchange for something else.
  • Draw Extra Cards: Some cards allow you to draw extra cards. Some cards like You's "Alright!" and Ruby's "Take it easy and rest" have extra restrictions while some like Mari's "Blaze" and Yohane's "One Oracle" have none.
  • Equipment-Based Progression: There are no levels but must acquire and remove cards and charms as you see fit to progress.
  • Fastball Special: Nightwicked Mari has an attack called "Sacrifice" which launches her minions at you for massive damage.
  • Full Health Bonus: The charms "Yohane's Staff" and "Sleepy Yohane" give you +1 attack and +1 defense respectively while HP is at 100%.
  • Gathering Steam:
    • Yohane herself starts out with a very basic deck every time she enters Reverse Numazu which the player must build over time.
    • Some cards like "Rising Whip Sword" and "Spirit Formation" get better the more they are played.
  • Healing Magic Is the Hardest:
    • In general, very few cards heal HP in battle.
    • For charms, Brooch heals 12 HP when HP is at/below 50% after battle and "Sleepy Lailaps" heals 30 HP but only at the start of a boss battle.
    • Only Hanamaru and Dia can heal when summoned and Dia can only do so when you deal more than 10 damage in a single attack.
  • The Klutz: Chika drops her tray of drinks when summoned.
  • Magical Accessory: Charms, which contain various effects, both beneficial and detrimental.
  • Magic Mirror: Yohane's adventure starts when she receives a magic mirror that contains a world inside.
  • Mid-Battle Tea Break: Mari is on a tea break when summoned.
  • Mirror Universe: The world inside the mirror. Yohane calls it "Reverse Numazu" since it is just Numazu with the places mirrored. This world contains evil versions of Yohane's friends called the Nightwicked as well as Yohane's Evil Counterpart Celestial Master Yohane.
  • Path of Most Resistance: Elite encounters drop the best cards and charms so it's still beneficial to go through most of them.
  • Playing with Fire: The "Blaze" card depicts Mari using a fire spell.
  • Pre Existing Encounters: Areas are depicted as one-way nodes with symbols if it is an encounter with a Mook, an Elite Mook and the Area Boss.
  • Pre-Final Boss: Celestial Master Yohane looks like the Final Boss but she's actually this, with the The Man Behind the Man being revealed to be the actual mirror itself.
  • Power at a Price: The charms given as reward at the end of every Area Boss battle.
  • Roguelike: Reverse Numazu changes every time you enter. You also start with a new deck, one random Summon Card and the default charm.
  • Random Drop: Cards and charms are randomly dropped after battle.
  • Set Bonus: Some characters have additional effects when you summon them together.
  • Status Effects: The game has both the traditional status effects from RPGs and the Deck Clogger type from Deckbuilding Games.
  • Stone Wall: When summoned, Kanan specializes in generating shields and nullifying Defense Down debuffs.
  • Summon Magic: Some enemies can summon other enemies into battle.
  • Time-Limit Boss: The final boss inflicts a status effect on you that deals a percent of your HP as damage every time you play a card. It only lasts for two turns so you can just skip a turn but it is enough for the final boss to use Summon Magic and have it attack you for massive damage.
  • Turn-Based Combat: Battling has a set order of turns for every one.
  • Sprite/Polygon Mix: During story segments, the cast are rendered as 3D models while the background is a 2D image.
  • Underground Monkey: Each enemy has a base type template with later encounters giving different skills and abilities to the same enemy type.
  • The Very Definitely Final Dungeon: The final area consists of a resting spot, a choice between an event or a shop, an Elite Mook, and another resting spot before the Final Boss.
  • White Mage: Hanamaru, who heals 10 HP when summoned and grants a passive heal for every turn and a heal effect for each Hanamaru card you play.
