Turnabout Tomorrow is a fan-made work of the Ace Attorney series created by DudeWithAMask using the Ace Attorney Online trial editor made for the "Never-Ending Turnabout" Competition hosted by Bad Player and Blackrune.

This fan case provides examples of:

  • Bitch in Sheep's Clothing: Cross' personality does a 180 after he's ousted as "E", revealing him to be a sadistic murderer with no qualms about using a poor girl who blindly trusts in him to commit a murder.
  • The Chessmaster: Chess motives are used several times during the course of the trial. Masterson and Cross have both taken measures to hide their tracks, but Cross eventually gets the upper hand.
  • Death Seeker: Implied in the True Ending. If Cross had played his cards the way he wanted, he thought Eileen would likely be planning to kill him - though she instead poisoned herself in her hotel room. He also told Christine to admit everything about him in questioning. Given that it was implied he was dying from some disease, he probably wanted to finish it as fast as he could.
  • Didn't See That Coming: Cross definitely did not expect the Judge to declare Christine guilty.
  • Driven to Suicide: Dawns poisons herself in the True Ending.
  • Downer Ending: The True Ending: Masterson is going to jail for murder, Cross is implied to be dying and he will likely go to jail due to asking Christine to reveal everything during her questioning. Christine had to to jail for being accomplice to a serial killer, and Eileen poisoned herself at the end, brutally breaking off her relationship with the Judge. The only light part of this is that Christine will likely be released for ratting out Cross.
  • Even Evil Has Standards: Even though he was a remorseless murderer, Cross couldn't bring himself to simply killing Masterson himself, so he constructed a plan to have Christine shoot him through the ceiling of one of the floors of the Powers Employment Offices instead.
  • Evil Costume Switch: For some reason, after Cross is ousted as "E" by Masterson to the Judge and Dawns, his jacket unbuttons on the bottom and reveals the bottom part of his tie. He's back to normal after the gallery returns.
  • Failure Is the Only Option:
    • One of the options required to get past Phoenix's testimony gives a penalty. It's a small penalty, but it is required to advance the plot.
    • The only way to continue past Cross' rebuttal portion is to lose. There is absolutely no way to win this one.
  • Good Lawyers, Good Clients: Inverted. "Cross" is a murderous serial killer, and Christine Yalt is a young women who is completely devoted to his ideals and blindly trusts him.
  • Identical Stranger: Phoenix Wright and Cross have never met each other, yet look practically the same. Phoenix also notes that Christine looks just like his daughter Trucy.
  • Karma Houdini: As Cross smugly states, after Masterson asked for the entire gallery to leave there was no way for him to be punished for his deeds. As far as the public knew, Masterson, the Judge and Dawns were no longer credible witnesses due to the former's crime and the latter two's obvious relationship. Christine is completely devoted to "E", and would never admit to anything. The closest he's come is the Judge using his conscience to deliver a guilty verdict to Christine after the gallery returns. The only reason Cross will likely face justice is because he specifically told Christine to reveal everything when she was going to be interrogated.
  • The Killer Becomes the Killed: The serial killer "E", also known as Richard Groud, is found dead after he escaped a mental asylum. However, it is subverted because Groud was never "E" to begin with, and the true "E" is still alive.
  • Multiple Endings:
    • The Good Ending: The real target of the "second shooting" remains unknown. Christine is declared not guilty and Masterson is arrested, though Cross offers to go see him and be his attorney. However, Christine disappears, and a few weeks later another "E" killing takes place, which the police believe to be a copycat.
    • The True Ending: The real target of the "second shooting" was Masterson, for possibly learning from Groud that Cross was "E" all along. Christine unwittingly gives Masterson the last piece he needed to confirm his suspicions, and asks for the Judge to temporarily dismiss the gallery to confront Cross. Even though Cross proves himself to be untouchable in court, Christine is still declared guilty, though Masterson is still kept in custody. Cross later meets with Masterson in his cell to talk, Eileen poisons herself after wondering what part she had in Cross' plan, and Christine is due to being released some time soon. The case ends with Cross coughing out blood, hinting that he has been dying the entire time.
  • Reasonable Authority Figure: The presiding judge is much more serious than the goofy judge from the usual Ace Attorney trials, and doesn't tolerate much shenanigans. Also, despite not being able to touch Cross directly after he confessed to being "E", he still delivered a guilty verdict to Christine Yalt.
Judge: ...A friend I truly respect once told me: "The court is where the truth is revealed. And we, the Judges, as its representatives have one important role. To act on that truth. To bring a fair verdict for the defendant. ...So seek that truth. Never allowing anything to get in your way."
  • Only Known By His Nickname: Moriarty's full name is never revealed, as he prefers to go as "Cross".
  • Red Eyes, Take Warning:
    • Richard Groud, the serial killer "E" had bloodshot eyes.
    • Once Cross is ousted as the real "E", his eyes turn red as well.
  • Secretly Dying: Cross is sick with some disease that ends up making him lose conscience during the trial. In the True Ending, he starts coughing out blood while talking with Masterson.
  • Self-Made Orphan: Though Cross' mother is still alive, she faked her death. Thus, after he killed his own father he was effectively orphaned, and was taken in by Masterson.
  • Serial Killer: A man known as "E" due to his tendency to leave the letter "e" whenever he kills someone. Was discovered to be a man named Richard Groud, who was arrested and taken to a mental institute. Actually, the real "E" was Cross himself. His very first victim was his own father, James Edward Moriarty.
  • Tomato in the Mirror: Defense Attorney "Cross" Moriarty is the true serial killer "E". He only used Groud as a scapegoat.
  • Wham Line:
Cross: Please, call me "E". Everybody does.
