The Tourist is a Minecraft adventure map. It's a very unusual map: the protagonist falls asleep in a tour bus in Paris, and wakes up to find the city totally deserted. They begin to suspect that recent predictions of the end of the world were correct...
This map contains examples of:
- Absurdly Spacious Sewer: Not only is it nice and big, it's accessible through a giant hole in the ground.
- Beautiful Void: Set in a deserted city full of huge empty rooms, other characters only briefly appear in voice only.
- Down the Drain: One section is in the Paris Sewers.
- God: Makes a brief (non-physical) appearance, where he challenges you to a puzzle.
- God Is Evil: God actually works against you, although he's more generally annoyed than actually evil.
- Lethal Lava Land: The section set in the Nether during the race against the Devil.
- Planet Heck: The last section of the map is in Hell.
- Scenery Porn: There was a whole lot of architectural skill going in to this map.
- Sealed Room in the Middle of Nowhere: One part of the map is an actual oubliette, although you can escape from it.
- Unexpected Gameplay Change: The race against the Devil, where the map abruptly changes from a slow-paced puzzler to a high speed race against time through a deadly obstacle course.
- The World Is Just Awesome: Why have an aerial minecart ride through Paris? BECAUSE IT LOOKS AWESOME!
