A Darker and Edgier video game adaption of the infamous creepypasta Sonic.exe, featuring "Lord X". Posted by user Average Joe.

In August 15, 2020, a remake posted by John-Kun and the PC Port team was released. The demo of the remake currently just covers the beginning of Tails' section. You can download the game here.

Tropes for the following:

    open/close all folders

Tropes that the original and the remake share
  • Alternate Timeline: PC Port’s timeline is an alternate continuation of the original Sonic.exe canon, taking place some time after the original story and the sequel, Round 2. Lord X is an older and more experienced version of the original X as well.
    • This still applies even after the release of Sonic 2011 (the official Video Game Remake of the 2012 Sonic.exe game), which was part of a Continuity Reboot of the original canon. That version’s X still becomes Lord X in PC Port’s timeline, but 2011!X doesn’t always become Lord X.
  • Body Horror: At multiple instances, Lord X shows off his otherwordly nature by warping his body and doing things such as twisting his neck, opening his mouth inhumanly wide, making skeletal hands crawl out of his mouth and even ripping his body in half to show the mass of Antimatter that is his true form.
  • Slasher Smile: Lord X has a lot of unnerving grins to give you, one particular example being when the player opens the game a second time after he crashed it.
  • The Fourth Wall Will Not Protect You: It wouldn't be a Sonic.exe fangame without this. Multiple times, Lord X talks directly to the player and sometimes threatens him, and in the remake, after enraging him by reading Tails' .txt files, he starts spawning .txt files with the phrase "I AM GOD" while making the game window shake violently, and at one point forces the game window's resolution to change by prying the window open with his bare hands.

    The Original

    Exclusive to the Remake
  • The Cameo: In the "Last Demo" version, Sunky.MPEG suddenly shows up on the Anti-Piracy screen to shatter the mood with spam video links of "Were On Blast" and notepad messages that form his appearance.
  • The Dreaded Pretend Tea-Party: Lord X hosts one with Amy.EXE and Alice/Cream.EXE at one point in the remake, which is, of course, twisted to his ways.
  • Nightmare Face: Lord X's face becomes rather creepy looking with a Ghostly Gape in the anti-piracy screen when you open the txt files.
  • Madness Mantra: Angering Lord X by going against his wishes to stop reading the text file and play the game eventually leads to him spamming multiple notepad documents that just read "I AM GOD" until the demo closes.
  • Spared By Adaptation: Tails narrowly survived Lord X, albeit for now, thanks to the game crashing just before he gets killed. Tails wellbeing is reinforced when he attempts to talk to the player via text files after the Game Piracy screen pops up.
