Legend of the Golden Robot is an Adobe Flash video game by Turbonuke released in 2011. In the game, you play as treasure hunter and explorer Indigo Steve who has to find the Golden Robot to stop the evil wizard who's terrorising the village. This is done by visiting 21 areas and digging for treasure before the day ends, but watch out for all the enemies moving around the field.

This game provides examples of:

  • Absurdly High Level Cap: Kongregate highscores indicate that the highest level reachable is over 255, but you'll beat the game in the high 30s.
  • Autosave: The game saves automatically every time an in-game day ends, which is also the only time it does so.
  • Betting Mini-Game: You can play a shove minigame with Andy in which you can bet 10, 20, and 40 dollars and push coins into a zone that makes you more coins. There's also a dice minigame with Brian the Brain in which he rolls 5 dice and you gamble the same amount of money and choose if you want to roll higher or lower than him. If you win, you get some EXP and the location of one treasure.
  • Big Bad: The wizard, who showed up with his horde of minions and made life crap for everyone in the village, so the hero sets off to defeat him.
  • Boss in Mook Clothing: Done with the bosses. They're not marked specifically in the area they inhabit, but if you run into them, you'll quickly notice their damage output and HP exceeds anything else on the field.
  • Captain Ersatz: As indicated by the name, Indigo Steve is obviously meant to look like Indiana Jones, as he's an explorer with a similar hat and hairstyle. The only thing he lacks is the whip.
  • Charged Attack: The Build Up move requires the user to skip a turn preparing before unleashing the attack on the next turn.
  • Critical Hit: Each weapon has an x% chance of a critical hit, with those obviously dealing more damage.
  • Death Is a Slap on the Wrist: Dying just results in you playing a simple key pressing minigame and returning to the previous day without losing money.
  • Dismantled MacGuffin: The Golden Robot, which was so powerful that it's been split up and buried, but it can defeat any magic and is instrumental in defeating the evil wizard.
  • Four-Leaf Clover: A 4 leaf clover appears as a treasure. It's a special item usable once per day, guaranteeing the player hits and the enemy misses for 2 rounds.
  • The Goomba: The goblins, being weak enemies only encountered in the first few areas. The goblin grunts are easily the weakest of them all.
  • The Grim Reaper: You have to escape a typical portrayal of him, scythe and all, when you die.
  • Kyu and Dan Ranks: The Ninja Goblin is stated to be a 10th dan black belt.
  • In-Universe Game Clock: Each in-game day takes place over 24 hours, with 1 hour taken up when you move to another square and several hours (depending on the shovel equipped and terrain) when you dig.
  • Made in Country X: The Antique Globe, which has "Made in China" written at the bottom.
  • Mighty Glacier: Dwarves and Orcs have high HP and defense for the point where they're encountered, but their speed is abysmal.
  • Mona Lisa Smile: A treasure in Area 4 is the Moaning Lisa, which the game considers a fake but it's still worth quite a bit.
  • Non-Combat EXP: Playing the dice minigame with Brian the Brain lets you get up to 40 EXP for each win, though you can only play it once each in-game day.
  • Notice This: Squares which you learned from Brian the Brain that have treasures subtlely flash white.
  • ...Or So I Heard: Norman mentions that he never liked reptiles and the wizard has a pet snake or so he's been told.
  • Tilesweeper: Every area is a 30+ tile grid in which you click to move and dig to uncover things. The number which you get when you dig something shows how many items surround the square. You have 24 hours each day, with 1 hour being eaten up every time you move and several hours (depending on the shovel equipped and terrain) when you dig.
