Golden Tee Golf is a series of arcade game developed by Incredible Technologies and releasing its first entry in 1989. The games are a series of golf games which make use of a trackball controller to determine the power, speed, and curve of the player's golf shot. All of the games feature a casual 18-hole mode along with a few of them featuring a Closest-to-the-Pin mode and even featuring online play. The long-running game series is also very popular for tournaments and has a large cult following.

Tropes seen across all games in the series:

  • Annual Title: Starting with 1997, every version of the game was numbered for its year of release. This held true until 2000 which was called Golden Tee 2K. The tradition resumed from 2002-2005, and after a second pause in annual naming, has resumed again since 2007.
  • Easter Egg: One of the most famous features of the series is the inclusion of Easter Eggs in every edition which can be found if the player plays off of the beaten path.
  • Face on the Cover: Starting with 3D until Fore, all games featured Peter Jacobson on the arcade machine and home version cover.
  • Real-Place Background: Being simulation games, the golf courses seen in the game are actual real-life golf courses.
  • Tech-Demo Game: The original game used a trackball controller and made a good job of showing how it could be used for a very accurate shot. In addition, 3D was the first arcade game to connect to the Internet for online play with other 3D machines.
