Punch Punch Revolution
"Boom, boom, boom!"

Fitness Boxing is a combination exergame and rhythm game released for the Nintendo Switch by Imagineer centered around the basics of boxing and weight loss. After a brief introduction, the player will punch and weave to the beat of various pop tunes. Similar to Wii Fit this video game keeps track of your body weight and how often you are playing the game, to help the player get exercise and lose weight.

The game got a sequel released in 2020 called Fitness Boxing: Rhythm & Exercise. Then in 2023, a third game would come out that would cross over with Fist of the North Star. A fourth game was released in 2024 featuring Hatsune Miku with a wide selection of popular Vocaloid songs, however it is currently Japan exclusive.

The games contain examples of:

  • Amazing Technicolor Battlefield: The workouts occur in an environment of flashing lights and shapes.
  • And Your Reward Is Clothes: Though there are other rewards, most of the rewards to the player will be additional outfits for their instructor. Many of these are fanservice.
  • Anti-Frustration Features: Detection for exercises involving full body movement such as steps and dodges can be very poor, often requiring exaggerated motions for the controllers to register that interfere with the actual exercise. The sequel features an option to set these moves to always register as Perfect hits so the player can focus on the exercise rather than the controls.
  • Anti Poop-Socking: Played with. The game reminds you take breaks rather frequently, though it conversely rewards spending large amounts of time amassing punches and the sequel even has an achievement for doing the daily exercise every day for a year.
  • Character Customization: Played with. The player has no avatar, but they do have a trainer, who can have their clothes, hair and skin color changed. The trainer is otherwise the same person.
  • Covers Always Lie: The girl on the cover looks like an offmodel version of the Wii Fit Trainer, but is in fact just one of the ingame trainers drawn in minimalistic style. She's just a normal human who does not punch with Joycons in her hands.
  • Crossover: The most recent games are tie-ins with popular brands
  • Exer Gaming: The game is basically a light boxing routine.
  • Large Ham: The default personality of all the instructors.
  • Spiritual Successor: To the boxing minigames in Wii Fit, as well as DanceDanceRevolution to a certain extent - albeit with punches instead of steps. Also is reminiscent of Fighting Mania: Fist of the North Star, an Arcade Game released by Konami in 2000, except gameplay is done with the Joy-Cons and not the punch pads.
