Nice bars there, bro!

This Mod by KittyPop (formerly The Savvy Peridot) adds BF's Big brother, (aka BB or Michael).

Boyfriend decides to hang out with his big brother instead of being with Girlfriend for a change, but Big Brother has a heart problem and can't sing as well as he used to. However, he's still determined to catch up with his little brother and have a rap battle with him. How will things turn out?

In Week 2, Big Brother isn't feeling so well, so he calls Boyfriend over to his house, and this time Boyfriend asks Girlfriend to come with him, but she arrives a bit later. Big Brother and Boyfriend go head to head with the killer who had damaged BB's heart before. But will BB really end up dying again this time?

BB mod is a vanilla run mod to showcase that some mods can look great and be compelling without using other sources. This mod has built-in DFJK controls to switch in the options menu to turn on or off, as well as down scroll option. BB mod is not a bullet-hell mod but a calm chill-like mod more around the story of the character more than the actual gameplay. However, this mod comes with a brand new mode called " Fuck..." which is a 1 miss KO difficulty.

Lore about the mod can be found here.

This mod provides examples of:

  • Adaptation Name Change: Boyfriend's name goes from literally Boyfriend to one of his popular fan-names, Keith.
  • Adaptational Heroism: Daddy Dearest, of all people, who infamously known to screw anyone and everyone for one reason or another in any other mod, revives Big Brother seemingly without a catch (Though Michael has heart problems as shown in Heartache, but whether this is Dearest's deliberate doing or not is unknown.) Subverted when Word of God states that he only did it because Big Brother sacrificed himself to save Girlfriend and he didn't want to be indebted to Boyfriend, whom he still hates. So this act of heroism was entirely pragmatic.
  • Author Avatar: Kitty Pop, the artist of the mod, appears as the opponent of a secret week.
  • Back from the Dead: In the backstory, Daddy Dearest of all people does this to Michael/Big Brother after being shot by a literally nameless angel.
  • Cathartic Scream: Big Brother lets out a big one at the beginning of "Survive", having had enough of The Fallen Angel's bullcrap.
  • Cool Big Bro: Big Brother to a T.
  • Decoy Protagonist: While Boyfriend is playable for most of the songs in Week One the story features Big Brother as the main protagonist, he even becomes the main playable character of Week Two with Boyfriend only being playable for one song.
  • Fallen Angel: A literally unnamed one serves as the Greater-Scope Villain by shooting Michael, the titular big brother, in his attempt to kill Girlfriend, though hasn't fully fallen until he killed him. He later makes a physical appearance in Week 2.
  • Harder Than Hard: The "Fuck..." difficulty, where 1 missed note is an instant game over. It even has weeks 1-6 from the original game to test your luck with this.
  • Heel Realization: After Big Brother calls him out for his actions, The Fallen Angel runs away and comes to realize why he was cast out of Heaven in the first place. With that, he begins reflecting on his past actions during the song, "Falling Down".
  • I See Dead People: According to Word of God, Big Brother can see ghosts due to having died before. The ghosts that appear during "Worry" are constantly trying to warn him about getting killed again. They're only visible when the lights turn off, and no longer appear once Boyfriend shows up.
  • Knight Templar: The Fallen Angel thinks he's on the side of good just because he's the angel and Girlfriend is the demon. Big Brother's quick to call him out on that.
  • Never Given a Name: The unnamed angel, who is so eager to get one he's willing to kill Girlfriend for it.
  • Promoted to Playable: "Always Here", unlike the other songs, flips the roles, in that the player now plays as Big Brother and Boyfriend is now the opponent. He's also playable in every song of Week 2.
  • Sir Swears-a-Lot: Big Brother doesn't exactly have the cleanest mouth.
  • Speaking Simlish: Even though Big Brother is fully voiced in the cutscenes and has a few speaking lines during some of the songs, Boyfriend still speaks in his usual beeps and boops. During the songs, Big Brother sings in those very same beeps and boops, albeit lower in pitch.
  • Succubi and Incubi: Girlfriend is revealed to be a succubus in a message sent to her by a nameless source.
  • Thanking the Viewer: Kitty Pop's second song "Thank You" is just what the title says; a song meant to thank the player for playing the mod.
  • Triumphant Reprise: "Don't Worry" is a more upbeat and cheerful rendition of "Worry" which was very solemn by comparison.
  • Villainous Breakdown: The Fallen Angel undergoes one in "Survive" when BB survives his second gunshot towards him.
  • The Voiceless: Girlfriend never utters a word in the cutscenes or songs where she's present.
