• All-Star Cast: The Viz media dub has a mixture of new rising stars and old veteran pros for many of the characters.
• Colbert Bump: The English release of the series began in February 2021, but it remained relatively unknown in the West until it got a surge in interest in the May of that year with the release of Gigguk's sponsored review of the first volume. Pre-orders for the books were soon sold out within weeks of the review's airing.
• The Other Darrin: The English voice cast in the live-action movie's dub are different from the anime adaptation's, largely due to both being licensed by different companies and dubbed by different studios, Netflix licensed the film & had it dubbed at Roundabout Entertainment while Viz Media licenced the anime & dubbed it through Bang Zoom! Entertainment. For example:
  • Akira: Paul Dateh (film) -> Zeno Robinson (anime)
  • Kencho: Stephen Fu (film) -> Xander Mobus (anime)
  • Shizuka: Artemis Snow (film) -> Abby Trott (anime)
  • Ohtori: Victoria Grace (film) -> Lauren Landa (anime)
  • Kosugi: Todd Haberkorn (film) -> Jamieson Price (anime)
• Schedule Slip: The anime experienced a lot of delays in regards to airing its episodes, which started around episode 4 where its release was delayed a day before its airing in some streaming services due to production troubles. This causes the subsequent episodes to end up getting delayed as well. Episode 5 was delayed for a week and a special program related to the anime was aired instead. Episode 6 was also delayed for a week because of the 2023 World Athletics Championships. Because of these production delays which affected the broadcast schedule, the staff decided to reschedule the airing of the final three episodes to Christmas of 2023.
• Technology Marches On:
  • For the 2023 anime adaptation, Shizuka uses a foldable smartphone-tablet^note Modelled after the Samsung Z Fold series compared to a regular smartphone in the manga from 2018, to expand on her tech-savviness.
  • Similarly, the 2023 live-action film has Kencho own and use a foldable smartphone from the Samsung Z Flip series instead of a regular smartphone in the manga.
