When your hero is a wage slave from a black company who realizes a Zombie Apocalypse means no more work and he can do whatever the hell he wants, you can bet there's a lot of laughs to be had.

Episode 1 / Chapter 1

Episode 3 / Chapter 3

  • Akira tries to grow a beard, but is dismayed by how unevenly his stubble grows in. He uses a marker to make it look more full, but it just dismays further. So he decides to stay clean-shaven.
  • Kencho's idea of becoming a stand-up comedian is to get naked, which becomes a Running Gag.

Episode 4 / Chapter 6

  • Akira tells Kencho, who is teasing him about not having a girlfriend, that he'll get a girlfriend today. They then switch to them looking out over their rooftop hangout and spot a female zombie, who has a serious flatulence problem, as it farts a pink cloud while falling over. Kencho then pats Akira on the back and wishes him luck.

Episode 6 / Chapter 8

  • To Shizuka's chagrin, she's forced to tag along with Akira and Kencho because she doesn't know how to drive.
  • The many fancy and impractical RV designs they find.
  • As shown with Shizuka pictured in this page, she criticizes the boys from wanting to drive some very impractical RVs, until she finds one that has a luxurious Japanese hotel room inside.

Episode 8 / Chapter 12

  • Despite Akira gearing up in his superhero costume to save Bea, him and the rest are utterly speechless when she busts out of the truck she's driving and takes down all the zombies attacking her using her superb otaku-gained samurai skills.
  • Akira agreeing to help Bea deliver the fish solely because one of his bucket list items is to pig out at a sushi restaurant.
  • Akira noting that Bea is far more Japanese than any of them (real Japanese citizens).

Episode 10

  • The mere mention that Shizuka has knowledge in medicine is enough to get all the elderly of the village to seek her out for medical attention.

Episode 11

  • Kencho manages to fool the zombies from attacking him by head-diving into manure to cover his whole body in it and hide his scent. He becomes a walking nude censor for a long while.

Episode 12

  • The revelation that Akira disguised himself as a zombie to throw Higurashi off from harming Tengo. We're treated with a small scene with Akira getting disguised with makeup.
  • Akira learns about his father's fatal illness...hemorrhoids, which is coupled with working in bad hot weather that leaves him gasping for breath. Akira makes a note to bring his dad to surgery in his list.
  • The team's trip to save the world from zombies looks less like an important mission but rather just sightseeing, as noted by Shizuka.

Chapter 41

Bonus Material

  • To celebrate the Netflix release of Alice in Borderland (the writer's first hit manga), a bonus chapter was made of Akira waking up in Borderland. Once he realizes he can just play games and no longer have to work, he is overjoyed and starts joyfully going through traps to the other players' horror.
