  • Actor Allusion:
    • Played with. Ryan's psychiatrist, played by Robin Williams, ends up uttering the line, "It's not your fault." This turns out to be the first clue that Ryan is in a dream sequence
    • Later, while on the phone with Amanda (who's at Comic Con), he says that he would go the next year, and would "totally dress up". He claims he'd make "a good Harry Potter." Elijah Wood played Frodo in The Lord of the Rings and often gets mistaken for the other young star of a major fantasy film series, Daniel Radcliffe.
    • When Drew and Jenna are about to get married, Ryan is given a particular role:
