Trivia / Ultraman X

Go To

  • Actor-Inspired Element: Ultraman X's Xanadium Beam was under suggestion of Daichi's actor Kensuke Takahashi when being asked by said option by the director.
  • Author Phobia: Greeza in the final episode was inspired by Takao Nakano's traumatic image of Zetton as a child.
  • Creator Backlash:
    • Writer Hisako Kurosawa regrets bringing Alien Zarab in episode 4 but not making use of his ability to disguise as an Ultraman.
    • Takanori Tsujimoto ,who directed the episodes in which Gargorgon appears, didn’t like the decision to give the monster dialogue. Tellingly, in the next appearance of Gargorgon he directed, it is portrayed as a Silent Antagonist.
  • Development Hell: Ultraman X the Movie ended with a Sequel Hook featuring an unseen monster called Desastro about to advance to Earth as our heroes prepare to take action. This continued in Ultraman Orb the Movie, with its own stinger revealing that Ultraman Zero and Orb will go to help X in fighting the monster. Unfortunately as of now, said production has been demoted to an offscreen encounter.
  • Promoted Fanboy:
    • Kensuke Takahashi is a fan of Ultraman Tiga and Ultraman Dyna.
    • Yūichi Nakamura and Yasunori Matsumoto. Although never stated their favorite Ultra Warriors, they took the voice role without hesitation after being offered by the manager of their talent agency (Sigma Seven).
    • The voice actor of Alien Nackle Bandero is a fan of Return of Ultraman, so most of Bandero's lines are ad-libbed out of excitement.
  • Prop Recycling:
  • What Could Have Been:
    • Early drafts for the series featured Cyber Eleking and Cyber Bemstar being used by Xio alongside Cyber Gomora to assist Ultraman X against other kaiju, but due to budgetary constraints only Gomora remained in the end.
    • Gargorgon was originally supposed to be a member of a species of monsters serving Greeza, but this was changed due to the creators feeling it didn't work.
    • Golza was originally meant to be the first monster battled by Ultraman X, but due to budget improvements, Tsuburaya Productions decided to create a totally new monster called Demaaga instead.
    • Dorako and Silvergon were supposed to return alongside Antlar and Golza as Zaigorg's minions in The Movie. Silvergon was scrapped entirely and Dorako's aerial combat with Ultraman Tiga was given to Antlar.
    • Houlinga's role was originally meant for the Ultraman Max kaiju Cloudos.
    • Kemujira was originally going to appear alongside Birdon in the second episode, homaging their debuts together in Ultraman Taro, but was cut out in the end.
    • Sayuri was meant to have her own unique form as Ultraman Nexus, but it was scrapped.
  • You Look Familiar: Chizuru's mother in episode 10: The Monster Won't Move is played by Misato Hara, who played Konomi in Ultraman Mebius.
