• Actor Allusion: According to the commentary on the DVD release of Hawaiian Vacation, it is mentioned that Chuckles' Hawaiian-sounding chant translate roughly to "Bound and rebound", a reference to an earlier Pixar short entitled, Boundin', narrated by Bud Luckey, the voice of Chuckles.
• The Other Darrin:
  • Condorman is voiced in Small Fry by Bob Bergen, as it was highly unlikely they would be able to get Michael Crawford to reprise his role for such a quick appearance.
  • Since then on, Olivia Luna, Mario Filio, José Gilberto Vilchis and Romina Marroquín Payró had replaced Erika de la Vega, Cristián de la Fuente, Mike Amigorena and Danna García as Dolly, Buttercup, Ken and Barbie respectively in the Mexican Spanish dub, as they were celebrities themselves. José and Romina have previously voiced Ken and Barbie in the trailers of Toy Story 3.
• Word of God: Angus MacLane wrote out backstory for each of the Kid's Meal toys, mentioning some of them in his audio commentary for Small Fry:
  • Franklin the Eagle is from Constitutional Condors, a CG animated film that's an Anthropomorphic Animal Adaptation of The American Revolution starring birds.
  • T-Bone is from Steak Force, a series focused on the titular team of robots that battle against the evil Vegetenarians ala. Transformers. It's sponsored by the (non-existent) American Meat Council.
  • Funky Monk is from Rappin' Robin in the Hood, a Totally Radical rap-themed adaptation of the Robin Hood legend.
  • Beef Stewardess is from Dairy Air, a barnyard-themed airline.
• What Could Have Been: A fourth short titled "Mythic Rock" was intended to be made and released in 2013. It never came out of Development Hell.
• Write What You Know: Small Fry came from director Angus MacLane's experiences working at a fast food restaurant's ball pit as a teen.
