  • Real-Life Relative: Closest thing to these episodes.
    • One episode documents the long-running fight between Julian Koenig and George Lois over who actually came up with several iconic ad campaigns in the 1960s and 70s; this bit features extensive interviews with Koenig, but Lois declined to comment. Who produced that segment, you ask? Why, none other than regular TAL producer Sarah Koenig—Julian's daughter.
    • Another episode, #511 "The Seven Things You're Not Supposed to Talk About," again features Sarah Koenig, this time with her mother appearing, with her list of seven things not to be mentioned in polite conversation.
    • Ira's first cousin once removed, the minimalist composer Philip Glass, has appeared for a few interviews with Ira—although never "officially" on TAL—and composed music for the "opera" in #528, "The Radio Drama Episode."
