- Cast the Runner-Up: Tom Baker claimed that he was originally up for the role of the Grand Vizier of Marabia, but was cast as Koura instead because Ray Harryhausen liked his inventiveness.
- Fake Nationality: Pretty much the entire cast. But unlike Ray Harryhausen's other two Sinbad movies, everyone here actually looks Arabic and puts on an approximation of an Arabic accent.
- Star-Making Role: In a sense, for Tom Baker. It was his riveting performance as Koura that led directly to him being cast in the role that would make him legendary - the Fourth Doctor.
- Uncredited Role: Robert Shaw requested that he not get any credit for playing The Oracle of All Knowledge.
- What Could Have Been:
- Christopher Lee turned down the role of Koura.
- Orson Welles was initially cast as The Oracle of All Knowledge, but his agent asked for an extremely high fee for the expected three days of voice work. Robert Shaw, who was on vacation in Spain, did the work in one day.
