• Edited for Syndication: Re-airings of the special remove Kermit's scenes and the sponsorship part of the opening credits, reading "Kraft Presents."
• Keep Circulating the Tapes: Whilst the original cut of the special with Kermit's introduction was lost for a while, it was later rescued. The movie was remastered and released on Amazon Prime in 2019, with Kermit's scenes intact.
• The Other Darrin: For The Secret Life of Toys, Mew, originally performed by Steve Whitmire, was recast with Nigel Plaskitt.
• Recycled: The Series: The Secret Life of Toys, which is set in an Alternate Continuity that replaces a few key characters and recasts some of the others; among the main characters, only Dave Goelz (Rugby, Ditz) and Jerry Nelson (Balthazar) reprised their roles from the special. This is likely largely due to the TV series being made in Germany instead of in Toronto, where The Christmas Toy was shot.
