• The Cast Showoff: All but one of the songs across both movies (the exception being Burton's Villain Song) are sung by Jennifer, and a good chunk of Brigade is dedicated entirely to her and her sister singing various Christmas carols for everyone.
• Colbert Bump: Both movies were ridiculously obscure until Phelous, Saberspark, and Pan Pizza made videos about them; and even then they're still fairly unknown on the web.
• Cowboy BeBop at His Computer: Some online reviews claim that Jennifer is voiced by Jennifer Donofrio, while her sister Amy who appears in Brigade is voiced by Amy Donofrio. In reality, both characters are voiced by Amy. Jennifer voices one of the singing beetles in Brigade.
• The Danza: In Brigade, Jennifer's sister Amy is voiced by Amy Donofrio, who also voices Jennifer.
• Follow the Leader: The movie was released suspiciously close to the original release of Toy Story (releasing on November 17, 1995 while Toy Story released two days later) and has a prominent sign on the cover reading: "If you liked Toy Story, you'll love The Christmas Light!". Ironically, the two movies share very little in common.
• No Budget:
  • It's pretty clear from the primitive character designs and rudimentary animation that the producers had little in the way of a budget.
  • The sequel takes this up to eleven by not only recycling character models and animating them floating and phasing through walls, but it also pads itself to feature length by having the last 30 minutes use Stock Footage to recount the events of the first film.
• The Other Darrin: Santa's voice actor changes between the two movies.
