• What Could Have Been: Lots of concepts and scrapped ideas have been revealed to the public:
  • Scaredy-Shroom was originally going to be on the roster of playable plants, but was instead made a potted plant. The role of team sniper instead went to Cactus.
  • One of the All-Star's abilities was going to be Hulking Out after drinking a sports drink.
  • Before the Scientist, there was the Gravedigger, who could plant tombstones that both worked as a shield and spawned zombies. He was ultimately scrapped for a lack of variant ideas, among other reasons. He still makes minor cameos in the final Garden Warfare and GW2 and finally made an official debut in the original Plants vs. Zombies 3 (now female), for as long as that version of the game lasted.
