• Schedule Slip: The original intention by the author was to release one chapter every month, which he attempted to simplify by writing the first 3 chapters before he even published the first one, to give him some leeway. Unfortunately he suffered Schedule Slip so badly (with chapters 7 and 10 in particular) that he's lucky to release even 2 chapters per year (although to be fair, the chapters have gotten a lot longer since he started- chapter 1 was a mere 6000 words, chapter 2 was 13,000, chapter 10 was almost 30,000!
  • The delay between chapters 11 and 12 (originally planned to be a single chapter before being broken in half for convenience) was over a year, due to a combination of writers' block and personal issues.
  • After the end of the first half of the series in chapter 12 and the release of the first chapter of Melody, the author fell into a massive slump, barely managing to produce any more writing (on this fic at least, For Love continued to see releases) for going on 3 years. However it's not a Dead Fic just yet.
• Write What You Know: Naruto takes up playing the shamisen as a hobby in Melody of the Shinobi because Arcane Azmadi plays the instrument himself, including all the actual songs Naruto learns to play.
