• Ascended Fanon: Many fans speculated during FIM that Spike has the ability to send living things with his "dragon mail" breath if he was able to work on it and/or was old enough. G5 gives them this exact ability.
• Banned in China: All episodes and specials are currently banned in Russia along with all other Netflix exclusives as of March 2022 due to the country's invasion of Ukraine, despite the entire series being dubbed in Russian.
• The Other Darrin:
  • Like with its sister series Tell Your Tale, none of the main voice cast from the film returned for the post-film franchise: instead, voice recording moved to Toronto, Canada from now on.
  • Martin Roach replaces Cathy Weseluck as Spike for his appearances in Chapter 6 due to a combination of Spike being older and voice recording being in Toronto instead of Vancouver.
• Orphaned Reference: Sparky being tired throughout Bridlewoodstock was due to thinking it would be after the Chapter 4 finale where he was drained by Opaline, only for it to ultimately be set before.
• Out of Holiday Episode: The Chapter 5 finale "Nightmare on Mane Street" is a Halloween Episode that was released on September 18, 2023 with the rest of the chapter's episodes.
• Quietly Canceled: Despite nothing advertising such and ending on a Sequel Hook, Chapter 6 was confirmed as the final chapter by staff so quietly it took fans two months to notice the announcement. A Hasbro presentation implied this is due to the Tell Your Tale spin-off getting better results from the target audience.
• Serendipity Writes the Plot: According to Karmyn Chretien, Jazz Hooves is intentionally modeled without ears in later episodes to match her concept art, where her ears are covered by her voluminous mane, even if it doesn't translate well to 3D.
• Uncredited Role: Twilight Sparkle and Sprout's role are reprised by Tara Strong and Joshua Graham (The Other Darrin from A Maretime Bay Adventure) respectively but weren't credited. Later Strong's credit was added in.
