Chapter 1

    Make Your Mark
  • Izzy dedicates herself to repairing the lantern Sunny's father made for her.
  • After the crisis has been resolved, Posey apologizes to everypony for her bad attitude.
  • Queen Haven ultimately accepts Zipp's need to have space to figure out what to do with her life, and assures her daughter that she's proud of her. She even goes along with Zipp's request to call her by her nickname.

Chapter 2

    "Izzy Does It"
  • Upon giving Sunny her birthday gift, Izzy admits that she is just so happy to finally have a friend to say "happy birthday" to.
  • Hitch has fully embraced his new role as a parent to Sparky, being attentive to the baby dragon's needs and giving him plenty of love.
  • Pipp and Izzy helping each other through their respective creative blocks.

    "Growing Pains"
  • Sparky clearly adores Izzy, who in return encourages the baby dragon to have fun.

    "Portrait of a Princess"
  • Pipp and Zipp singing the portrait day song together. Despite their arguments, it shows just how strong their bond is.

    "Ali-Conned"
  • Sunny's friends cheer her up by showing her the community garden they made for her.

    "The Cutie Mark Mix-Up"
  • A sizeable crowd of ponies are present for the opening of the community garden. After the previous episode suggested nopony other than the Mane Five cared for Sunny's pet project, it's good to see that some were able to get on board with it.
  • After living a day in each others' horseshoes, Sunny and Hitch reaffirm their friendship by reciting their Secret Handshake from the movie.

    "The Traditional Unicorn Sleep-Over"
  • Izzy is overjoyed when she meets Misty, positively gleeful at the idea of making a unicorn friend.
  • Sunny, Pipp and Zipp go all-in on Izzy's idea of a unicorn sleep-over, just to make their friend happy.

    "Hoof Done It?"
  • Pipp keeps the lantern hidden because she knows Zipp is having so much fun exercising her detective skills, and doesn't want that fun to end for her just yet.

    "Have You Seen This Dragon?"
  • Despite being given the run-around by Sparky for most of the episode, Misty openly admits that she's grown to like the baby dragon, and promises to return him after Opaline gives her her cutie mark. Sparky, who had initially been hostile to Misty, feels the same way.
  • Just the fact that Pipp wrote a lullaby just for Sparky.
  • Hitch and Sparky's joyful reunion.

Chapter 3

    Winter Wishday
  • All Sunny wants is to be able to enjoy Wishday with all her friends.
  • Hitch openly adores his grandmother, and Grandma Figgy returns those feelings. She is also deeply fond of Sparky, who is essentially her great-grandchild.
  • Grandma Figgy thinks well of Argyle, recalling a time when Hitch and Sunny were foals and Argyle granted their wish for snow on Wishday snow by using bubbles.
  • Pipp's cookie cottage (modelled after Mane Melody) includes little cookie figures of Jazz and Rocky.
  • At the end of the special, the Mane Five realise that they were so busy that they forget to get gifts for each other. But none of them mind, as being together for the holidays is what matters to them most.

Chapter 4

    Bridlewoodstock
  • Izzy and Pipp empaphize with Ruby Jubilee's current writer's block, assuring her that they know how it feels.
  • With a little help from Sunny, the Dreamlands reconcile their differences, and perform as a band once again.
  • When the guilt-ridden Pipp announces that Bridlewoodstock is over, the assembled ponies let her know that they had so much fun, and want to hear more music.
  • It initially seems like due to the Mane 5's lack of communication with each other there will be a problem due to the all the bands thinking they are the headliners, and trying to fix this schedule conflict instead getting all the bands to agree to go first. There actually seems to be no problem with any of them, and the special ends with all of them performing on stage together in harmony.

    "Top Remodel"
  • Sunny genuinely wants to make sure everypony has an equal say in what becomes of the abandoned factory.
  • When Sunny starts to worry that she won't be able to satisfy everpony's desires, Izzy assures her that she'll make the right call because she cares so much about others.

    "The Jinxie Games"
  • Queen Haven and Alphabittle's relationship from My Little Pony: Tell Your Tale is officially carried over to this series too. In fact they are arguably even more affectionate with each other here.
  • Queen Haven's speech during the games of all three pony kinds coming together after so long and realizing how much they needed each other, which also symbolically reflects Misty's budding friendship with the Mane 5.
  • Everyone is worried for Sparky when they see him climbing a tree by himself, and when he eventually falls. As soon as Hitch realizes his son is in danger, he immediately saves him himself.
  • Misty sneaks away from the Crystal Brighthouse when the Mane 5 return home, but Sparky finds her and after getting her attention happily delivers her a photo of her with the Mane 5 she had been examining all day, showing he has no hard feelings towards her for kidnapping him. This also presents Misty with the perfect chance to kidnap him unopposed, but instead she leaves him at the door for the others to find.

    "Sunny Side Up"
  • Listening to Sunny's speech makes Misty realise that she doesn't want to help Opaline take away everypony else's power, and that the Mane Five have done nothing but treat her with kindness.
  • Sunny and Hitch reminiscing about the times they spent playing together when they were kids.

    "The Manesquerade Ball"
  • The Mane 5 immediately include Misty in their plans for the Manesquerade Ball in Zephyr Heights when she arrives.
  • Sparky gets to walk down the red carpet with the others. Later he does some breakdancing and strikes a pose. It's just so adorable!
  • When Misty confesses to Zipp she doesn't have a cutie mark and claims she kept it a secret because she was afraid they wouldn't want to be her friends if they knew, Zipp eases up on Misty for the rest of the episode, assuring she and the others like her for her.
  • Misty and the Mane 5 dancing together for Sunny's "unity dance".

    "A Little Horse"
  • Zipp looking after Pipp when she's sick. It's clear even though they're at each other's throats most of the time, they still love each other.
  • Misty has no ulterior motives for visiting the Mane 5 while Pipp's sick, she just wanted to ensure she was okay.

    "Missing The Mark"
  • Misty decides to help the captive Mane Five escape, proclaiming that she'd rather live her life without a cutie mark than spend another day as a pony who does the wrong thing. Fittingly, this noble act is what finally gets Misty her cutie mark.
  • The Mane 5 accepting Misty into their group at the very end, knowing that she has changed for the better. Reformed, but Rejected, not today!

Chapter 5

    "Cutie Blossom Bash"
  • The story of how Hitch attained his cutie mark: when Sprout and some other colts refused to let a filly play game, Hitch didn't hesitate to play with her instead.
  • Seashell is attending the ceremony due to having gotten her own Cutie Mark, and has brought her friends Glory and Peach Fizz with her. All three of them befriend Misty when she is nervous about being the oldest pony at the ceremony, with Seashell offering to let her join them.
  • Queen Haven is nothing but welcoming to Misty (even with the oddness of her being the oldest pony in the ceremony), and even agrees to the Mane Five giving her a private ceremony.
  • After Misty chooses to return to Opaline to act as a Double Agent for her friends, she takes solace in a photo of herself and her friends, pledging not to let them down.

    "Family Trees Part 1"
  • Alphabittle and Queen Haven recover from their brief dispute quickly, neither one holding it against the other.

    "Family Trees Part 2"
  • The Mane Five assure Misty that even if she doesn't find her family, she can always be part of their family.
  • Misty doesn't hesitate to utilize her magic key's one and only use to allow Sparky to get to the Dragonlands.
  • Alphabittle and Misty’s reunion.

    "Father of the Bridlewood"
  • Alphabittle is overjoyed to be reunited with his long-lost daughter, proudly showing Misty off to everypony in Bridlewood.
  • After sorting out their issues, Alphabittle surprises Misty by revealing he arranged for the Mane Five to make a room for Misty at the Brighthouse.

    "Mane Smelody"
  • A minor example: Posey refers to Windy as her "bestie". Considering how much she resented Pegasi and unicorns in her first appearance, it's quite touching to see her consider one to be her best friend.
  • Pipp doesn't hold it against Jazz for keeping the truth, and appreciates her finally being honest with her.

    "Nightmare On Mane Street"
  • Sunny fondly reminisces on all the fun Nightmare Night times she had with her father.

Chapter 6

    "The Isle of Scaly"
  • The dragons all find Sparky adorable when they see him, excited to finally see another hatchling after so long. Sparky also gives Hitch a kiss while riding on his back.
  • Sunny geeks out when she realizes that the Dragon Lord is the Spike she and Hitch heard stories about as foals.
  • Spike tells Sunny she reminds him of Twilight. Considering how much Sunny idolizes Twilight and the rest of the Mane 6, this is a big compliment.
  • Spike still remembers his time with the Mane 6 very fondly, telling Hitch if he could relive those moments he would do so.

"Roots of All Evil Pt. 1"
  • Spike is happy to be back in Equestria after so long.
  • When Sparky needs to go with Spike and the other dragons in order to stop Opaline, Hitch gives him his sheriff badge.

"Roots of All Evil Pt. 2"
  • The one to start the song "Magic in Us" is Seashell, one of the Pippsqueaks. Seeing this young filly be the first to step up and not lose hope inspires everyone else.
    • Not only that, two of the ponies who join her in singing are none other than... Posey, and Sprout.
  • Hearing all the ponies sing inspires Sunny and restores her hope.
  • Spike praises Sparky for his role in defeating Opaline, having freed him from her spell and being the one to change her spell, calling him a hero.
  • Spike tells Hitch that Sparky knows better than anyone where he belongs, and so Sparky is given the choice to stay with Hitch and the Mane 6 or join the dragons and live among his own kind. He initially seems like he is going to join Spike, but then remembers the badge Hitch gave him. Sparky runs back to Hitch, hugging him, and says his first proper word "Home", showing he considers Hitch and the ponies his family. Considering how Hitch has been worried about saying goodbye to Sparky for some time now, this is truly relieving for him.

    Secrets of Starlight
  • It turns out that the Auroricorns of Starlight Ridge are actually very friendly. Though they are surprised by the Mane 6 due to their sudden appearance, Violet Frost approaches them shortly afterwards and apologizes on their behalf, with her and Comet welcoming them and showing them all the different activities they do.
  • Comet has always wanted to see the world beyond his home. As the Mane 6 prepare to return to Equestria, he asks to come with them so he can finally see the outside world. They all agree, and Comet is immediately excited with every new thing he sees.
