Trivia / MLAnderson0

  • Actor Leaves, Character Dies: Austin had to move cross country to start a new job, resulting in Shaun being killed by HABIT in the three-part crossover episode.
  • All There in the Manual: Dylan did an interview with a fan, during which he revealed the true nature of Patrick and his relation to Michael. Among other things, he confirmed that Michael/Patrick has existed for centuries; that Patrick is the fragment that stores all of the memories and knowledge (akin to a hard drive), while Michael is like a newborn, starting each iteration afresh. He also confirmed that Patrick is able to see the Slender Man's true form: a "giant, colossus looking thing" of which Slender Man is but a small fragment.
  • Author Appeal: By Dylan Sindelar's own admission (see above), Patrick's looks and mannerism were inspired by the Eleventh Doctor and Heath Ledger's Joker.
  • Creator Backlash: Dylan Sindelar eventually came to share the fans' dislike of the untitled 2016 "finale" of the series, to the point where it would eventually be taken off the channel sometime in 2023.
  • Keep Circulating the Tapes: The series' final video, which was uploaded two years after the "Retrogression" video journal, was deleted in December 2023. Unless you have a copy of it saved somewhere, good luck trying to watch it.
  • Real Life Writes the Plot: Eric's actor had to move out of state, so Dylan and Austin (Michael and Shaun, respectively) had the Slender Man attack Eric and leave him severely injured, frightening him away for good.
    • Shaun was Killed Off for Real in the early 2014 episodes in order to accommodate the actor who portrays him moving cross-country. Michael was later abducted and tortured by HABIT offscreen for the same reason.
  • Recycled Set: Sharp-eyed viewers will recognize the house where Michael and Shaun live in the early episodes as the same one that appears in numerous videos from Everyman HYBRID as the collective home of the cast, and as HABIT's safe house from both series (and Tribe Twelve). The cast members of the two series were housemates at the time, and took turns using the rental property for filming purposes (often cleverly framing shots so as to disguise the location).
  • Torch the Franchise and Run: The crossover with Everyman HYBRID ended up becoming this. Because Dylan and Austin had to move across the country to get different jobs, the series finale had HABIT kill off Shaun and torture Michael/Patrick offscreen, thus making the series all but dead in name. Patrick would later make cameos in other Slenderverse series, calling a previous iteration of Vinnie in Tape 3 of The Princeton Tapes and talking on the phone with Stan Frederick. However, neither appearance hinted at a return of his character, or a continuation of his story.
  • What Could Have Been: The final episode of the series was supposed to be much more dramatic and engaging than the infamous "drawing of an egg" scene that was ultimately released: there was a third episode filmed during the EMH crossover, in which HABIT tortured Michael/Patrick by waterboarding him in a bathtub; according to Evan Jennings, HABIT behaved much more animalistically than in previous videos, and Patrick actually managed to piss him off by mentioning Doctor Corenthal (either by telling HABIT that he will never stop the Doc, or that the Doc will stop him). Unfortunately, Austin Harris misplaced the SD card containing the footage, leaving the cast to scramble to film something to finish off the series. The only remnant of the video is a scene in the Tribe Twelve video "Severance"note where Michael briefly appears in HABIT's bathroom, coughing profusely, with a stab wound in his side.
    • The creators of EMH also wanted Patrick to play a larger part in the crossover, showing up at HABIT's house and talking to Vinnie and/or HABIT (presumably before being taken prisoner). This ended up being scrapped due to time constraints, and was replaced with Patrick's appearance in the Box 7 recordings.
    • In leaked PDFs by Tribe Twelve co-creator Ki Scyne, it was revealed that there were plans for Michael/Patrick to make an appearance in Milo's journal, where it would've been revealed that the latter was sent to the very same institution Michael was put in before the beginning of this series. Unfortunately, this likely will never come to fruition either, due to TribeTwelve being put on permanent hiatus after circumstances regarding Adam Rosner's behavior came to light in September 2020.
  • Word of God:
    • Dylan and Austin show up on the Around the Campfire podcast to discuss the making of MLAnderson0. Found here (no longer available).
    • According to Adam Rosner, the bleeding man seen in HABIT's bathroom in the EMH/TT crossover Severance is indeed Michael.
