Trivia / MGM Oneshot Cartoons

Go To

  • Creator Backlash: Frank Tashlin, the original author of "The Bear That Wasn't" wasn't happy with the animated version, as he felt the bear getting a cigarette in his mouth and a cup of coffee in his paw made him look too human, kind of ruining the point of the story. He never spoke to Chuck Jones afterward.
  • Keep Circulating the Tapes: Many of these oneshots are not available on DVD. However, they did air during the 1990s on Cartoon Network and Toon Heads (and continued to air very early in the morning on Boomerang until June 2014, as well as TBS and TNT from the late 80s until 1998), and a Laserdisc set compiling 42 of the shorts was released as well, with at least one VHS release including some as well. Several of the cartoons (along with several non-Droopy Tex Avery shorts) were released on the Boomerang streaming service in mid-2019.
  • Missing Episode: Leo Master Spanish, apparently.
  • No Export for You: Leo Master Spanish was released only in South America.
  • Similarly Named Works: The short, Home on the Range, which premiered after Puss Gets the Boot but before A Rainy Day. It has nothing to do with the Disney feature of the same name.
