Trivia / Lunar

Go To

  • Creator Backlash: Akari Funato, who illustrated the light novels, designed the bromides, and authored two of the manga, seems to hate being pigeonholed as a Lunar artist in The New '20s, and charges exorbitant prices for any art commissions related to Lunar.
  • Feelies: The Complete remakes on the PlayStation came with mini-strategy guides, cloth maps of the overworld, and a life-sized replica of Lucia's pendant (in the case of Eternal Blue).
  • Franchise Killer: Lunar: Dragon Song. The series was already on decline after Lunar: Eternal Blue, but the embarrassment of JRPG that is Dragon Song was the final blow to the franchise. After that, there were only a few more anemic ports of Silver Star, especially since Game Arts was acquired by GungHo, who then found the golden goose of Puzzle & Dragons, resulting in Lunar getting left behind entirely.
  • The Other Darrin: As a long-standing video game series, this happens in many directions.
    • The Japanese cast of Silver Star Story includes five or six other Darrins, as none of the cast of The Silver Star returned. Meanwhile, all of the old English cast did!
    • Hiro was recast between North American versions of Eternal Blue.
    • The entire English cast of Silver Star Harmony.
  • Recycled Script: Lunar: Dragon Song essentially recycles the plot and some other aspects of Lunar: The Silver Star, despite supposedly being a Prequel to the series.
