  • Accidentally-Correct Writing: Subverted since the idea never made to the story, but one of the author's original ideas was for Izuku to have a Super-Speed Quirk, which he dropped because that made Izuku too overpowered. Eventually the manga comes along and reveals the Second User's Quirk, Gearshift, which is also super speed and many fans considered too overpowered and a crutch.
  • Ascended Fan Nickname: Reviewer Magnus_616 suggested for the main trio's ship name to be "Clover", a Shout-Out to Black Clover, reasoning how each character represents an as aspect of it: Izuku is Faith, Ochako is Love and Itsuka is Hope. Nejire could count as Luck, in case she does join the polycule. Comes Arc 7, promptly titled "Clover Rising" which features the beginning of the Relationship Upgrade not only amongst the first three main characters, but also confirms the inclusion of Nejire to the polycule soon enough. And if this comment thread is anything go by there may be a fifth leave about to blossom for the polycule after her. Sure thing, Chapter 36 reveals that Melissa is a member of the polycule as well, and their hero team name is "Team Clover".
  • Creator Backlash: 3PeopleInACoat was not particularly happy with his deciptions of Haya and Bakugo in Chapter 31. He felt like he exaggerated Haya's Green-Eyed Monster traits with her jealousy towards Izuku and Nejire. As for Bakugo, he tried to emulate the character's early canon personality, but felt like he made the explosive blonde pretty much like a psychopath during his match against Izuku and Ochako, because Bakugo didn't got his Break the Haughty moment from the Battle Trials. Viewers pointed out that his deciption of the character is actually in line with Bakugo's personality at the beginning of the story, so it wasn't necessarily the author's fault that the character was pretty much a villain when he was conceived.
  • Creator's Favorite: The author has said their favorite characters to write about are Itsuka and Ochako.
  • Hypothetical Casting: When questioned over possible voice actors for the original characters, 3PeopleInACoat liked the suggestion of a reader and revealed his personal choices:
  • Inspiration for the Work: The author cites that three of the major plot points from three other MHA fics: Ochako moving to Mustafu and going to Aldera came from Green Tea Rescue, Izuku becoming Itsuka's training partner came from Young Midoriya and the childhood accident that led to Izuku giving up heroics came from Neither a Bird nor a Plane, it's Deku!.
  • Meaningful Release Date:
    • Chapter 20 was released on September 9, 2022. September 9 is Itsuka's birth date according to the supplemental materials.
    • Chapter 37, the last chapter of 2023 was released on December 27 of that year. December 27 also happens to be Ochako's birthday. Coincidentally, Chapter 38, the first chapter of 2024 was released in January 11, which happens to be Shoto's birthday.
  • Teasing Creator: In the author notes for chapter 22, Word of God said that in ten chapters or so, two members of the main trio will kiss. Although...
  • Trolling Creator:
    • In one of the author's notes, Word of God mentioned that there would be a kiss. Chapter 24 includes a scene of Ochako and Himiko sharing a passionate embrace ... and then Word of God teasingly clarified that it wasn't the kiss they were referring to. And once it's shown that it's Ochako and Itsuka sharing another kiss in Chapter 29, 3PeopleInACoat further teased that he never specified that the kiss would happen in exactly ten chapters.
    • The author actually foreshadowed the Chapter 31 twist of Izuku's Elemental Absortion and Power Copying abilities on the author's note of Chapter 30 by saying: "Hope you're all ready for a *cool* time!" And absolutely none of the readers caught on that.
  • What Could Have Been: Starting with second year anniversary of the story, 3PeopleInACoat started to share several ideas that didn't made to the final plot:
    • From the first year aniversary:
      • Mirio, Nejire and Tamaki were supposed to be on Class 1-A and Mirio was going be a rival to Itsuka much like Bakugo to Izuku. The idea was mostly scrapped with only Nejire remaining on class. And Mirko to be aged down was supposed to replace the Big Three.
      • Camie was going to be in both Class 1-A and the Big Three.
      • Ochako and Himiko were going to be Childhood Friends before Ochako moved to Musutafu and she would completely forget it until Himiko reminded her.
      • Hana Shimura was going to survive Tenko's Traumatic Super Power Awakening, be found and raised by All for One and be story's Big Bad, before being replaced by Nine. The author didn't felt like it was different enough from canon so that idea was scrapped, although Hana surviving her family's death was kept.
    • From the second year anniversary:
      • The story was originally going to follow two different plotlines, one in the present with Izuku and Ochako as the main pairing, and another one in the future with them adopting Eri, and bringing in Itsuka to help them navigate parenthood. In fact the flashfoward from the first chapter was the first chapter of that story. Eventually the author went back and decided to rewrite canon instead.
      • Izuku's Quirk was going to be lightning all along, but before the story, the author considered a Super-Speed Quirk (which he dropped because that made Izuku too overpowered) or a healing Quirk (which he dropped because he didn't know how to write this kind of power.
      • Bakugo was going to be genderswapped. There was also a side-plot where he thought Itsuka was in love with him. The author hated both of these ideas.
      • Ibara Shiozaki was originally going to be in Class 1-A, much like Horikoshi originally intended.
      • Himiko was originally going remain a villain, but with the twist of being Ochako's friend. She would stalk her and Izuku, fall in love with him, but being jealous of Itsuka being a part of their group, she would attempt Murder the Hypotenuse and replace her.
  • Word of God:
    • Izuku's lightning Quirk was inspired by inFAMOUS, and according to them, the game will influence more as the story goes forward. It also has elements of Delsin's powers from In Famous Second Son.
    • It were Midnight and Present Mic who wrote the "Revenge-Plot" for the entrance exam robots, and they brought back for the Sports Festival.
    • Izuku was ranked fourth place amongst Pony's ranks of the best asses of 1-A.
    • As one of the readers predicted, there is a bet going on over who and when the main trio will get together, and Present Mic is the one most likely to win.
    • Since Bakugo didn't bothered to reveal how deep goes his punishement for actions during the Sports Festival, the author's notes explained it up: In addition to being expelled from the hero course but stuck in general studies, his costume and support items have been confiscated in the event of vigilante-ism, and he has received a month's worth of detentions on behavior and regulated therapy with Hound Dog.
    • When asked about possible intro and outro songs for the story, the author shared his personal choices
      • Season 1, Origins to Entrance Exam arc: Opening, "Goya wa Machiawase", Ending, "Lost in Paradise"; U.A. to USJ arc: Opening, "99.9", Ending, "Daisy".
      • Season 2, Sports Festival arc: "Kyouran Hey Kids!!", Clover Rising arc: "The worlds end", Ending, "Name of Love"; Heights Alliance to Revengers Agency arc: Opening "Zankyou Sanka", Ending "Long Hope Philia".
