• Approval of God: ShutUpJojo seemingly approves the very fact that HoodRats! is here on TV Tropes and even tweeted about it.
• Ascended Fanon: Some characters appearing in the series are actually OCs created by other people. Some notable examples are Sammi, the Wildfire and Yoruwa.
• Creator's Favorite: A case extending to the work as a whole. ShutUpJoJo clearly prefers HoodRats! over Needlem0use, probably because the former is an original work while the latter is essentially a retelling of Sonic.exe.
• What Could Have Been:
  • ShutUpJojo was at first gonna have Sarah from Needlem0use as a character in the comic. However, they ultimately dropped the idea due to wanting to keep the two works and their fandoms separated. However, Sarah's role might have been replaced by Marbles since the latter is a Gravity Master, which is what the former would have been had she been added.
  • Sammi was planned to have a greater importance in the webcomic, but due to some issues with her creator this was postponed.
• Word of Gay:
  • A doodle drawn by ShutUpJojo reveals that Prince is transgender (and the comic itself later reveals it too).
  • ShutUpJojo has stated that Skyblack is AroAce^note Aromantic and asexual..
  • An edited drawing on ShutUpJojo's Discord server reveals that Melody is pansexual. The same drawing reveals that Skid, aside from being non-binary (which is already made clear by the comic itself), is also bisexual.
• Word of God: ShutUpJojo has a habit of revealing things about HoodRats!, especially on their Twitter account and on their Discord server. Some examples are:
  • The comic takes place in the late '90s to the early 2000s.
  • Melody is the reincarnation of Loki.
  • Skyblack likes writing poems.
  • Skyblack's clothes are actually a part of her body.
  • There are no canon color palettes except for the flat colors, the characters' ethnicity and Melody's facepaint.
  • Due to Skyblack existing, the events of VS Sky have happened in the comic as well.
    • By proxy, this also means that Boyfriend and Girlfriend exist somewhere within the HoodRats! universe.
  • Sammi will return.
  • People in the HoodRats! world aren't humans, but a species called "Wegians".
