Franchise Killer: Beast Rider, an attempt to reboot a series that hadn't seen a new installment in almost 15 years, with the final result looking like a poor man's version of Heavenly Sword. It took until another 15 years after it released for a new game to get announced.
Keep Circulating the Tapes: Unfortunately, The Revenge of Death Adder is the only installment in the series that has never been ported to any home console or download service, which is a shame as it would've been a great launch title for the Sega Saturn or Sega 32X.
Thankfully, the Sega Astro City Mini will contain the The Revenge of Death Adder, giving it its first home port.

Port Overdosed: The Sega Genesis port of the original is one of the most consistently included games in Sega's many, many Genesis collections and re-release lines, dating back to the late 90's and continuing even into the 2020's.
Before shutting down, game studio SEGA Australia was planning to do SEGA Reborn, a series of 3D remakes including Golden Axe, with some CrossOver elements between titles. Golden Axe Reborn's abandoned prototype was released in SEGA's 60th anniversary as "Golden Axed: A Cancelled Prototype".
