Trivia / Golan the Insatiable

Go To

  • Acclaimed Flop: The series has met with critical acclaim from both critics and audiences, but still received low ratings, possibly due to it airing late in prime-time and being surrounded by nothing but reruns of other Fox programming.
  • Adored by the Network: After the series ended, reruns aired on Fox's ADHD block until the block's closure in March 2016. May not sound like much but it was the same 9 half hour episodes aired over and over. Initially, reruns aired once a month, but starting in January 2016, the series aired every Saturday night.
  • Descended Creator: Golan was voiced by Josh Miller in the original shorts.
  • The Other Darrin: Pretty much every character has a new voice actor for the 2015 series. Maria Bamford, John DiMaggio, Matt Silverstein, and Nick Rutherford are the only voice actors from the original Animation Domination High-Def version to still be on the FOX Sunday Funday version. Meanwhile:
    • Golan the Insatiable goes from being voiced by series creator Josh Miller to former SNL cast member Rob Riggle. The Mayor of Oak Grove goes from also being voiced by show creator Josh Miller to John DiMaggio.
    • Dylan Beekler goes from being voiced by comedian Mary Mack to being voiced by Aubrey Plaza.
    • Mackenzie B goes from being voiced by Abbey DiGregorio to Tara Strong. Coincidentally, both of them voice characters in Drawn Togethernote .
  • Screwed by the Network: Season two wasn't revealed to the public until a month prior to its premiere. It didn't help that Fox aired season two at 9:30pm, surrounded by a night of reruns.
