• The Other Darrin: Togusa's daughter was voiced in Japanese by Mika Kanai, wife of Togusa's actor Kōichi Yamadera at the time, for 2nd Gig, but was replaced here by Nana Yamauchi who continued to voice her in Ghost in the Shell 2: Innocence. This was most likely due to Kanai and Yamadera's then-recent divorce making them work together too uncomfortable. On the English-speaking side, Sandy Fox voiced the daughter in 2nd Gig and would later reprise her part in the 2009 dub of Innocence, but this movie had Sherry Lynn fill in for her, possibly due to Fox's humanitarian work alongside her husband. Lynn had previously voiced the character in the 2005 dub of Innocence produced for the UK and Australian markets.
  • Section 4 Chief Nakamura was voiced by Simon Prescott in the original movie from 1995 but his appearance here was performed by Michael Gregory, as Prescott had retired from dubbing work after voicing Dr. Akio Asuda, the creator of the Tachikoma, in 2nd Gig.
