Trivia / Friday Night Funkin': Tails Gets Trolled

Go To

  • Approval of God: Tsuraran, best known as the creator of Salty's Sunday Night, created a remix of "Talentless Fox" back when it was the only song in the mod. Echolocated ended up liking it so much, they added it into the game as a bonus song under the name "Tsuraran Fox". It was removed in Version 4 though for unknown reasons.
  • Creator Backlash: After V3's temporary cancellation, Cmyth, one of the composers, stated how he wanted nothing to do with the mod, even going so far as to revoke usage of the song "Paralysis" in any future updates to the mod. A shame, seeing as Paralysis skyrocketed in popularity after V3's cancellation.
  • Descended Creator:
    • One of the composers and later owner of the mod, Hooda the Antagonist, created a redone version of "Die Batsards" with Shadow's vocals done by themself.
    • Echolocated, the head of the mod, voices Girlfriend in "Hammerhead".
  • Dummied Out: Sonic's "forced smile" spritesheet has an idle animation that shows him struggling to maintain his composure, but it's simply never seen in-game as he doesn't stop singing while that sheet is being used.
  • Lying Creator: When exposing Hooda The Antagonist, one of the composers and former directors of the mod who was kicked, KyleOfBladesSDF claimed that the now-removed song "You Can't Consent" was made by them. However, after they were removed, and after conducting a subsequent interview, others later found out that Hooda did not compose the song at all, as it was made by Niffirg.
  • Follow the Leader: After the mod's spike in popularity and subsequent cancellation following Version 3, many people tried their hands at making mods based on Tails Gets Trolled, usually directly copying Boyfriend and Girlfriend's designs in this mod. Even general Sonic mods began having songs based on FNF: TGT, such as Freaky Night With Soni or Documic.txt.
  • The Other Darrin: Shortly after Version 3 released, the mod received a minor update that replaced "Die Batsards" with a redone version, which replaced Shadow's original vocals done by StickyBM with new vocals by the song's composer, Hooda the Antagonist, as Sticky's were too low to be consistently heard.
  • Role-Ending Misdemeanor: Hooda The Antagonist, one of the composers, was outed twice:
    • The first time they were outed was not long after they became the director of V3, when they were accused of abusing members of the team, resulting in the departure of several staff, resulting in the cancellation of V3.
    • By the time of V4's release, due to many allegations against them regarding them having pedophilia as well as committing incest and rape, Hooda The Antagonist, one of the composers, has been removed from the mod team, and all their work is set to be removed/cancelled. Oh, and any attempts to bring back Hooda's work WILL be met with ire.
  • Screwed by the Lawyers:
    • "No Heroes" was removed from Version 4 due to RiverMusic not allowing Echolocated to use the song for that version.
    • "Paralysis" was also scrapped from the mod due to Cmyth not allowing Echolocated to use it in any more updates for the mod (see Creator Backlash above).
    • Additionally, "High Shovel" was quickly removed from V4 after its release after Philiplol revoked permissions for Echolocated to use the song in V4.
  • Trolling Creator: On December 9th 2021, the official Twitter account for the mod began a countdown that went down from 10 every day. Many fans obviously assumed that this was leading up to the highly-anticipated release of Week 3...up until December 19th, where the countdown simply went down to -1. Another tweet was later made poking fun at the fans for assuming it was leading anywhere.
  • What Could Have Been: There are a number of things that were cut from the mod, including;
    • A scrapped song for Bowser, "Morons Like You".
    • A collaboration with Friday Night Funkin' D-Sides; only the spritework was completed.
    • Another completed but scrapped song featuring Sonic against the Troll King, called "Paralysis".
    • A crossover with Vs Sonic.exe and Sonic Rhythm Rush; this was actually scrapped prior to the cancellation of FNF: TGT due to the then-director of Vs. Sonic.exe being booted from the dev team, and both it and Sonic Rhythm Rush would end up fully cancelled for different reasons later anyway.
