Trivia / Friday Night Funkin' Soft

Go To

  • Approval of God:
    • The twitter account frequently retweets fan art, including those of "soft variants" of characters.
    • Some fans have speculated that, if he was under the protection of the canon Dearests, Benjamin would be treated like a brother by Girlfriend. This is obviously not canon, but the mod team actually likes this idea and welcomes it with open arms.
  • Ascended Fan Nickname: It's not uncommon for fans to label a "Soft" variant of a character as "Soft [Insert Name Here]." On twitter posts from the official account, Monster and Senpai's equivalents are referred to as Soft Monster and Soft Senpai respectively. They stopped naming the latter as such after they came up with an official name for him, Sven.
  • Ascended Fanon: There are upcoming bonus songs based off of the Common Crossover known as Friday Night Funkin' Soft Corruption, a cover of "Lament" being the first to be in the works.
  • Descended Creator: Grace Dearest's vocals come from the mod's main creator, Tama.
  • Diagnosis of God: Tama has stated that not only does Benjamin have autism and ADHD like canon BF, but he also has PTSD and anxiety with depressive episodes from his parents' treatment of him.
  • Schedule Slip: The Week 6 update was said to be released late 2021, then was then moved to early 2022. Around beginning of 2023, it still has yet to be released. However, a trailer has been showcased for the update as part of 2023's FunkKast event.
  • Trolling Creator: While Week 6 was in development, one fan requested to at least see Senpai's leg. The twitter account did exactly that and expected fan art, which resulted in a numerous amount of tweets with a drawing of a leg.
  • What Could Have Been: The original names for Soft BF and Soft GF were Aaron and Melody, respectively. They were changed in order for the acronyms of the names to be similar to BF and GF.
  • Word of Gay: According to the mod creators, Benjamin is gay while Pico is bisexual.
  • Word of God: Now has its own page.
  • Write Who You Know: According to Tama in an interview, Grace is based on a girl Tama knew in real life, while Soft Monster is based on her father. Also, a lot of Benjamin's character was based on Tama herself.
